I supposed its better than a cover, a minimum of 1 week at the top if the track gets there, hardly ground breaking, and bombs in week 3 when Christmas is over.

I don't like the song.. First off all it's only intended for Christmas, not everyday use. Also as much as I like Ed Sheeran the song sounds one-toned to it, it lacks the wow factor of a proper winners single.

 

Still think Something I Need is the best winner's single to this date.

I think it's a good move releasing a Xmas song. It's not like the song is going to last more than 3 weeks in the chart anyway (look at last year) so they may as well get big sales in the first few weeks.

Not necessarily though! That kinda song without a Christmas theme could've been a much longer runner than Forever Young. Just two years ago we had Something I Need which was a big hit into the New Year!

I'm actually not a fan of Matt but I think the Winners Single is really decent for once. It actually sounds and feels like Christmas Single probably the best Winners Singer in a while !
