I guess this really is the death of christmas charity singles then, didn't expect that none of them would make the top 40 but that's what it's looking like.

I don't think the British public are getting into the Jo Cox track, its funny though from the Saturday update at #1, now down to top 100 practically, but that was with no streams included on Saturday's report from OCC.
so Matt is flopping, the xfactor trick of making a xmas single is not working.

Because Matt is bad and the song is super bad and I don't get it, and yap - Floping all over the place.

He could be top 3 on Friday - taking into consideration that streaming is in full effect here, that he has no physicals and that Louisa only scraped the top 10 last year - he's FAR from flopped.

It's win/win for me. I'm happy with either of that top 2 for Christmas. Lmao at the Hospice & Jo Cox though. Like the latter's song title.... you can't always get what you want ie the Xmas #1!

Really hoping Mariah can push Matt out by Friday though!

Looks like we'll have the lowest selling Xmas #1 of all time as Clean Bandit will most likely finish on 60k
Those album sales are tragic for Xmas week...I guess buying people albums isn't really a thing anymore. To be fair though I've only bought one for somebody in all my presents and I used to buy albums for everyone. They all stream now and I'm not even sure if most of them still have CD players so it's pointless...

Those sales aren't that bad. Certainly not bad enough to make such a sweeping statement.

Matt isn't doing that badly at all. Sadly due to to it being a Christmas Song, it'll be gone next week. I don't think its two week life has been enough to make it a song that re-appears next year.

They're low enough in comparison to previous years to suggest what I mentioned, that buying people albums as Xmas presents is becoming steadily rarer.

But lack of major releases obviously doesn't help, though then again Emeli Sande was meant to be just that so aside from Adele and Ed Sheeran I'm not really sure who could sell in numbers over 200k again now.

I reckon the only way it will join the Christmas canon is if he establishes an Olly Murs type career trajectory somehow. I suspect he will be more of a Ben Haenow though, as Olly's personality has got him a long way and Matt isn't as charismatic from what I've seen so far.

Makes me wonder how Saara Aalto would have fared with that Xmas track if she won.

I would imagine a peak a bit lower down the top ten as she isn't as commercial/traditional winner as Matt and I can't imagine the song would have suited her that well at all.

Big YES to Little Mix in the top 3 with "Touch", such a tune. So it looks more likely Clean Bandit will be getting a Christmas Number One, and on their seventh week at the top which is quite incredible, and as streaming becomes more and more dominant in the charts, the quality of music at the top of the charts gets better, say goodbye to any novelty, X Factor winning songs, or charity songs ever troubling the top end of the charts again, :)
How is Little Mix ahead Matt when they have been only a few hours ahead in iTunes?

Assumably because they've got multiple versions out on iTunes.

Singles and album sales look very low this week for xmas week. At least poo factor isn't number one.

I was saying with those multiple versions, they started to be ahead yesterday afternoon.

They're ahead on streams, and also, it's a very small gap anyway, though Little Mix will probably increase over Matt tomorrow.

Rag'n'Bone Man has a good lead on iTunes, is there any chance he could do it?

Little Mix at 3 already :o. Their post album singles seem to reach the chart very quickly! (For all eras)

Would love Matt to stay top 5

Album chart looking very boring. I would've thought Adele would be top 5 but I guess the album is a little old now and a lot of people already have it. I'd imagine LM will get to 2!

Can't beat the maturity of the comments on here.

Wish I'd put a wager on Clean Bandit earlier in the week but I'll still make a small return if they take #1. Has any other song that's been in the charts for 5+ weeks ever been Xmas #1 before?
