December 22, 20168 yr Wow at J. Cole getting his first top 10 hit with Deja Vu, looks like it could be quite a hit with how well it's done in both the US and UK :o Aw at Bad Things having a bit of a drop because of the J. Cole tracks though, been enjoying it a lot at the moment and hoping it'll be a massive hit in 2017.
December 25, 20168 yr Wow at that J. Cole domination, I didn't know he had become *that* big - is this even better than all the Drake album tracks did?
December 25, 20168 yr Its time to call it a day on listing new album tracks as singles when its blatantly obvious its an album play with a few of the lesser tracks skipped over. J.cole isnt that big, its just urban music fans are notorious for not wanting to pay for it. The Most pirated acts tend to be urban. No pay no chart, i say, stop the singles chart invasions and boost the album sales instead...
December 25, 20168 yr I don't usually agree with you but it is starting to get ridiculous how these urban artists get their entire albums in the singles chart. They should have a rule where only the singles can chart or the highest album track in the case of this J Cole album that has no singles to my knowledge
December 25, 20168 yr Oops at the J.Cole album tracks washing Drake, Twenty One Pilots and Calvin/Rihanna out of the chart prematurely, all probably would have spent a few more weeks on otherwise. In that respect at least it gives a few other more genuine new hits a higher chance of reaching the top 50. Edited December 25, 20168 yr by gooddelta
December 27, 20168 yr Author I also hope this is a wake up call for Billboard to change its chart rules, whether they make album tracks ineligible or give streaming less weight--the latter seems unlikely but we can dream. Definitely goes against the intent of the Hot 100 even if they claim it represents true popularity. That said, nice to see a clearout of songs just before the gift card effect would have kept them around even longer.
