I must have played the snippet for Lonely Together at least 50 times... genuinely this could end up as my song of the year when it's out.

I am disappointed judging by the preview of Lonely Together, Avicii should be driving new trends, not doing a track in the current overused tropical style that all Scandinavian dance producers in particular seem to have got an unfortunate fetish for (must be the Kygo effect!)

Happily, the one shared by djtigerlily sounds a lot better, nice piano house and an interesting, I'm guessing Eastern European folk inspired electronic drop. Hopefully that one will be released first and not Lonely Together.

Haven't listened to any of the other previews yet, I must do so!

The EP is called 'Avīci' and will be out on August 10th. 'Without U' is a confirmed track.

Avīci is labelled as 01 so I'm assuming Lord if it doesn't get a name change will be 02?

he's crediting people now? :)
I've read (on reddit?) that he has a new management, so this may be the reason why that was changed (re: crediting the featured artists).

No because he wrote this tracklist (minus track 6) with the title 'Lord', so I presume the EP title has changed, unless 'Lord' is now going to be EP #2.

Avicii also confirmed that the EP will be released at 4PM CET on the Thursday (same as BST)

*.* at him possibly crediting vocalists, but that could just be his attempt to return to relevancy

Excited for that AlunaGeorge collab, would be interesting to have another dance song with AG after White Noise :yahoo:

That remix could do wonders as well. That MORTEN remix was a jam :music:

So no single release tomorrow? 'cause there's meant to be a video out on Tuesday.
There doesn't appear to be any info about a release tomorrow. If a video does happen, it can happen, it'll be like before OA/OS when videos were all a part of the hype and build up to a release of the song
So if 'Avīci' means 'hell' in Buddism, what are the chances that the second EP will be a Buddist word for 'heaven'? Either that or he didn't want to be generic and have a self-titled EP so found an interesting word that's similar to his stage name to use instead.

He named himself Avicii after the Buddhist concept of 'Avīci', it was no accident or coincidence.

In Buddhism, Avīci (Sanskrit and Pali for "without waves" – Japanese and Chinese: 無間地獄, Wújiàn dìyù and 阿鼻地獄, Ābí dìyù) or Avichi, is the lowest Level of the Naraka or "hell" realm, into which the dead who have committed grave misdeeds may be reborn. It is said to be a cube 20,000 yojanas (120,000 to 300,000 kilometres) to a side, buried deep underneath the divine (nonvisible) earth. Avīci is often translated into English as "interminable" or "incessant", due to the idea that those beings that have been sent there languish there eternally. The other hells function more like Purgatory, where after perhaps a few aeons of suffering, one might be reborn as some sort of lowly life-form in a somewhat less horrible place; but, those sent to Avīci Hell are thought to be hopeless of any respite.

There are various evil acts which can lead one to be committed to the eternal torments of the Avīci Hell. People reborn in Avīci generally have committed one or more of the Five Grave Offenses:

Intentionally murdering one's father

Intentionally murdering one's mother

Killing an Arhat (enlightened being)

Shedding the blood of a Buddha

Creating a schism within the Sangha, the community of Buddhist monks and nuns who try to attain enlightenment (eternal happiness).
