I don't think Jahq liked it either so at least he'll approve

Yeah, The Big Short is getting what it deserves  Not as bad as Zoolander 2 or London Has Fallen for me (my personal bottom 2 so very glad to see them out already!), but contending for my bottom 5 for sure.

Not bothered about The Revenant falling out already either, very overrated. I'm mourning more for Hell Or High Water which was a pleasant surprise (not a genre I'd normally go for but very well acted, amusing in moments and I found it pretty gripping throughout) and Louder Than Bombs, which isn't a major favourite of mine but seeing it below Zoolander 2 is painful! (And I think the thread you created for it is one of the reasons I got round to seeing it )

At least I understand what was going on in Zoolander 2 and London Has Fallen even they were so unfunny and dull so TBS just had to be bottom for me  I'd love to see your list sometime too Jahq !!

I did find HOHW well acted but the rest just left me a little bored really even though there were some tense moments, I was disappointed after all the good reviews though. Yeah, I think I liked Louder than Bombs a lot more when I first saw it and it has gone down in my rankings a fair bit since then, I don't really remember LOADS about it though so should probably see it again and jog my memory !

Thanks for commenting

I have Capture The Flag to watch on record! I'm a sucker for these kind of animations :kink:

Really enjoyed Tarzan, took me by surprise!

Triple 9/London Has Fallen/Zoolander 2 are definitely down there for me as well and yasss at that overrated crap just missing the top 90!!

Tell me what you think of Capture the Flag, Sam! It's not even really bad just so, so, so forgettable.

Tarzan just left me bored really, like I said, good job they had Margot Robbie to keep things interesting!

The Revenant seems to be so polarising on here  It definitely had its highs but na, just left me bored for the most of it :(

Thanks for commenting

omg r0000d! ;)

Ah, but they're so borin' tho!!! :(

Thanks Jonjo :P

Only ones I've seen so far are Dad's Army and The Revenant. Loved both of these films!

Hopefully you'll agree with me on some of the ones higher up the list  The Revenant was a good film for sure but I was just too bored when watching it really :(

Thanks Dalek!!

86. Jane Got a Gun -

We're getting to the stage now where movies are dropping out that I enjoyed but ultimately were nothing really special and a little forgettable too. This was a little slow starting and took a while to get into the swing of things but picked up towards the end and was so tense when you knew Ewan McGregor's character was nearby. I haven't seen many westerns in my lifetime so I can't compare it to much but it was quite a lot of fun and I loved all the old fashioned shootouts and settings.

87. Deepwater Horizon -

This was a solid movie and I think it surprised a lot of critics who ended up giving it quite good reviews. It managed to balance the mortifying destruction of the disaster and the humanity of the crew really well. You really felt for Mark Wahlberg and his family and you were hoping for the best for them because they were so likeable. The CGI was also excellent but that's to be expected with the massive budget it had, I imagine its poor box office returns mean this film was probably a big loss for the studio...

88. Eddie The Eagle -

I quite enjoyed this film when first seeing it. Taron Egerton just continued to be incredibly watchable and a bit of Hugh Jackman is never a bad thing either. However, after reading about the true story afterwards, it was a bit infuriating to see how much of the story had been fabricated just to make the plot a bit more juicy like for example, his dad had always been supportive of Eddie which made the touching reveal of his knitted jumper have much less impact when you know that he was supportive all along. The stars made the film very enjoyable but I don't have the greatest interest in ski jumping and it was annoying to read about the differences from the true story afterwards.

89. Pete's Dragon -

This is another of Disney's smaller hits of the year but I imagine it probably made a little bit of money for them despite its low box office numbers. It was an alright film and certainly had some nice, heart-warming moments but it's not really anything special and there have been so many better films this year. There was something about all the characters that just made them all unlikeable, I think I only really liked watching Bryce Dallas Howard out of everyone in the whole film and Natalie, the sweet little girl who befriended Pete. Overall, the CGI was solid and I liked the majority of the dragon parts but I do feel it could have been better and Disney are obviously capable of so much more.

90. Central Intelligence -

This has been one of the most popular comedies of the year and made A LOT of money at the box office for a comedy but I never really liked it that much. I think the two leads are of course very fun to watch and so the film was not a chore to sit through but there were very few jokes that I actually laughed at which was a shame. I think I am a fan of raunchier humour really and with this being much more of a family movie, the jokes were a lot less daring. The fat Dwayne Johnson was hilarious and I liked when Johnson posed as the marriage counselor too  but other than that I can't remember many more times I laughed at the film so I had to rank it lower than most other comedies from this year.

Eddie The Eagle being out already is my first proper OH HELL NO YOU DIDN'T moment of this countdown Joshy

(Central Intelligence was more enjoyable than I expected too because I don't consider myself a huge fan of the leads)

IT'S GETTING WORSE! OMG. SOMEONE STOP THIS COUNTDOWN!!!!!!!1!111!1!!1!!!

Honestly though, 'Central Intelligence' and 'Eddie The Eagle' are both very good! The former was a pleasant surprise because, although I like the leads, I feel comedies never usually live up to the hype so much and I wasn't expecting 'Eddie The Eagle' to be as feel good as it was, fabricated story or not! I've not seen the other 3 in that batch though! :o

P.s. I do really love your countdown so far. I might disagree with some of them, but I don't mean my comments to be taken so seriously! :kink:

Oops, apparently ETE is popular on here! At least it solidified the notion that Taron Egerton is amazin' :D

I like Hart and Johnson, especially the latter, mad how he's become one of the biggest stars in Hollywood :o

Thanks Jahq!

I'm pretty sure you'll approve of the ones right near the top of the list so hold on, Jon !! :P

Ah, Central Intelligence was just all too safe for me. I'd take a raunchy comedy like Dirty Grandpa or Grimsby over this any day! Eddie the Eagle as a movie, I enjoyed quite a bit and I know it's only INSPIRED by a true story but just so annoying when so much is made up :(

Thanks Jonjo, that's the good thing about movies, we all take different things from them! :D All these comments do mean a lot so thank you to everyone :')

81. Queen of Katwe -

As well all know, Disney are fantastic at making the blockbusters but they're also pretty good at making smaller films too. Both this and The Finest Hours from this year alone were solid films and really well-made but have ultimately struggled to finish high in my EOY as often, the subject matter just isn't for me. This movie had some fantastic acting (Lupita especially, she is so good at pretty much everything, I wish she was getting more roles at the moment), a strong script and some really tense moments but I think it's quite hard to make a movie about chess that enthralling and therefore I did find myself a little bored during a fair bit of the movie. It is far from the most exciting film but it had its moments of excellence and it's a shame that it didn't reach a larger audience.

82. Independence Day: Resurgence -

We're already starting to lose a few blockbusters and here we have another one drop out. I was actually quite hyped for this despite never seeing the original but it ended up being a little forgettable despite being fairly enjoyable in the moment. I had a good time and the characters were likeable but I don't really remember much about it now and don't really have any intentions of seeing it again. The one thing I do remember enjoying was seeing the queen alien fighting in daylight, so many of these blockbusters have dark action sequences so that was a real treat.

83. David Brent: Life On the Road -

Ricky Gervais is a REALLY funny guy and I'm a huge fan of everything I've seen him in but I've never seen The Office so was a bit unsure of what this was going to be like. I did enjoy it and found the character of David Brent really likeable but the humour was more of an awkward type of humour so whilst funny, I didn't really laugh out loud at all during the whole film. I had a good time and none of it dragged at all but it's hard to rank comedies I didn't laugh at too high on my list. The lyrics to his tracks were a great touch though, I imagine the album would be a laugh to listen to

84. Pride & Prejudice & Zombies -

At the time of seeing this, I hadn't see the original Pride & Prejudice so didn't totally get the references this had so I will definitely have to re-watch it when I get time to. The only reason this is really quite low is because I am a massive scaredy cat and although not full-on horror film scary, it still had enough jumpscares to make me a bit uncomfortable/scared/on the edge of my seat during the whole film  I loved how it never took itself seriously one bit which made the parody scenes so much fun to watch. I'm not a fan of Matt Smith in anything either but he totally surprised me here and ended up being the funniest character in the whole thing, wish he'd take more comedy roles as he was great in this!

85. Alvin and the Chipmunks: The Road Chip -

I think there comes a time when we all outgrow Alvin and the Chipmunks and I think that time may have finally come for me  I had a fun time watching it but there's no way I can rank it above so many other films from this year really, it just feels a bit too silly and over the top as an adolescent whereas it was, of course, hilarious as a little boy. The villain especially was just a massively OTT caricature which made it difficult to enjoy any of his scenes. There was still some good humorous moments such as the airport security sequence but a lot of the jokes are definitely aimed at younger kids so it's becoming harder to enjoy them. It is kind of hard to resist the charm of Chipmunk cover versions though so it's always nice when we get new ones in every new film. Also, I got a new celeb crush courtesy of the gorgeous Josh Green *-*

Independence Day was completely forgettable and boring for me. Deepwater Horizon too, I was hoping it would be similar to Everest in terms of epic-ness but I didn't find it interesting at all. :( David Brent was an OK filler watch, I've never seen The Office either, it was slightly amusing in places but ultimately too cringe to be laugh out loud funny

Going back to Eddie the Eagle and your annoyance with how much was fabricated, I'm interested to see how The Light Between Oceans ranks and if your opinion on that changes as / when you read the book :kink: (or maybe changes from a book won't matter so much to you? But I thought there were a couple of significant things missed out which did lower my opinion of the movie slightly)

I was hoping Deepwater Horizon would be a bit more epic too and whilst it had some good moments, I imagine I'll have forgotten about it soon. David Brent is never a movie I'd spend my own money on if I didn't have an unlimited card but yeah it was amusing enough in places to be a fun watch despite the lack of laugh out loud humour.

I still haven't read TLBO book yet but got it for Xmas so will have to see what it's like. I guess it has a bit of a free pass ticket though as it's not based on real life at all even though the movie seems to have skipped parts out from the book. It'll be a little while 'til it pops up anyway :P

Thanks Jahq!!

76. Absolutely Fabulous

We're getting to the stage already where I'm finding it kinda sad to get rid of these films on my countdown. This was a really fun time and the two leads were, as it says on the tin, absolutely fabulous in their roles. They were likeable, funny and had such great chemistry but it's just the lack of hugely funny moments that mean I can't put it any higher. Whilst not laughing much at the jokes themselves, I could watch the characters of Patsy and Edina for hours as they are just so much fun! Chris Colfer had my favourite moment of the film going 'just take it, bitch!' when tugging out that poor girl's hair

77. Office Christmas Party -

I've said before I'm a fan of raunchier comedies and so I did laugh a little more at this but it still wasn't one of the funnier comedies around. Jennifer Aniston was definitely my highlight from this, she's great in pretty much everything and I loved how she just took no shit in this at all. Jason Bateman was also a laugh and it was one of my favourite roles by him. I think my favourite joke was the guy trying to roleplay the baby/mother scene when getting with that girl

http://i.imgur.com/cOYYPCU.jpg

78. Mother's Day -

Yet another comedy film drops out and it's another that although a fun film, lacked in laugh out loud moments and so I can't rank it much higher. Once again, Jennifer Aniston was incredibly likeable in her role and the best thing about the movie. It was also nice to see Jack Whitehall in a Hollywood film and I think his British charm and humour worked really well in the film too. However, it was a bit of a forgettable comedy and I don't remember much about it anymore either. Extra props for excessive use of Meghan Trainor's 'Mom' though, iconic song *-*

79. The Accountant -

I do like an action thriller movie from time to time but they're far from my favourite genre and I usually don't rank them very high in comparison to other movies. This was a good movie I guess and it had some good moments (it outdid my expectations at least after being sick to death of seeing the trailer everywhere for months on end) but I just found it hard to get into and was a little bored for most of it. There's also something about Ben Affleck that makes him so difficult/awkward to watch so I don't like many films that he's the lead character in really. At least Anna Kendrick saved it for the scenes she was in but that wasn't enough either :( I liked the brutality of the action sequences and the twist at the end with the reveal of the villain but there were too many things I disliked about it to place it any higher.

http://i.imgur.com/D7ce1p3.jpg

80. The Magnificen Seven -

I said this about Jane Got a Gun too that I haven't seen many westerns to compare between but I must say, I found both a bit dull at times even I liked the old-fashioned western shootouts and settings in both. There were some great action scenes in this, especially the end and some of the characters had some fantastic death scenes too. Chris Pratt was my favourite character in this, he is just so likeable in pretty much everything and he really stood out in this for me. The ending was definitely the best part but there were just too many boring moments in the middle to put this much higher.

Some of the movies that Mothers Day is ahead of is shameful :P A great cast wasted on an awful script.

The Magnificent Seven I found rather dull too, think you have it in the right area. My mum enjoyed The Accountant more than I did, it was OK and I love Ben but both this and Office Christmas Party I won't complain at being too low! Ab Fab I'll have a lot higher, not seen the tv show but LOVED the movie, not my favourite comedy of the year (Bridget Jones probably has that title for me) but I found it laugh out loud in places and very likeable, great cameos too.

I liked 'The Accountant', although I was a little bit disappointed by it. Jon Bernthal was my highlight of the film, along with Anna Kendrick ofc. Not seen the 3 comedies you just posted, but 'The Maginificent Seven' was so tedious and a bit of a chore to get through. It wasn't particularly "dreadful", just very long-winded. Chris Pratt was the only one I liked, but even then, he's had far superior roles as of late.

Owwww, I still had few chuckles at some of the jokes and the cast are just far too likeable to not at least have a little bit of a good time watching it :lol

The action scenes in TM7 were great imo but I can't remember anything that happened in between them, far too many lulls in an action movie imo but I guess that's the nature of westerns.

Bridget Jones won't be falling out for a while so I agree with you that it was not one of the best comedies, I've got a rough rank but not deciding what drops out until I write the commentaries so we'll have to wait to see what my top comedy is :D

Thanks for commenting Jahq

Pride, Prejudice & Zombies was absolutely diabolical. So boring.

Aw, I found it really fun, I think I would enjoy it loads more now I've seen the film and know the story of Pride & Prejudice better now :D

Thanks Jack :D

Jon Bernthal was definitely my second favourite character behind Anna Kendrick so yay for good taste there. For me, Ben is always overshadowed by other characters in his own films, even if he's the only lead

TMS was a little boring, the action scenes were fun but it definitely had big lulls in between those for me.

Thanks Jonjo

71. Kung Fu Panda 3 -

The visuals in this film are absolutely gorgeous, my jaw was wide open during the spirit world scene, it just looked so intricate and detailed, mad to think how this stuff is actually animated. The fight scenes were well-choreographed and Kai, the villain was the right balance of menacing and fun to watch too, the swords attached to his chains were the definition of ridiculously cool. The only thing that brings this film down is the lack of intelligent humour for the most part, I know it's a children's film so the jokes are intended to appeal to them but there were just too many fat panda and eating jokes to the point were it could be turned into a drinking game if you were aiming to get alcohol poisoning.

http://i.imgur.com/DbqRZl8.jpg

72. Warcraft: The Beginning -

This is probably now (one of?) the most successful video game movies ever now and despite this fairly low placing, it did have loads of moments of enjoyment for me. The orcs were just so cool and badass to look at and their fight scenes were loads of fun to watch. Some of the pacing and acting was a bit dodgy but the main selling point were the orcs anyway and I think they definitely delivered with those. I had a good time and would definitely see a sequel so I do hope we get one with a bit tighter editing/writing.

http://i.imgur.com/4ZxdUkt.jpg

73. Hail, Caesar! -

I was kinda hyped for this because the cast was just packed with massive names but I didn't think the story itself would massively appeal to me. It took me by surprise though because I ended up quite enjoying it and it never once got boring due to the all the different characters, cameos and plots. Alden Ehrenreich was a massive discovery from this, a very charming guy by the looks of things so I think he'll pull of the Han Solo role next year. The Channing Tatum cameo was probably my favourite, he's absolutely hilarious as usual and had a great little musical number to add too. The reason it's this low is just because I have no desire to go back to it and it did end up being a little overshadowed by so many movies yet to come.

http://i.imgur.com/XHoz54V.jpg

74. Ice Age: Collision Course -

Much like Alvin and the Chipmunks, there comes a time when most of the jokes in these sort of films are just aimed at age far younger than yourself so even though the movie is still a fun time, it's difficult to take much from the comedy of these films and the story has never really been the highlight of the Ice Age films. It was lovely to catch up with the characters but it's a bit of a shame the main focus is on Manny when I find the likes of Diego and Sid far more likeable and watchable. There were still occasional laughs to be had though, Sid's grandma getting struck by lighting, dying, struck again and just finishing her sentence like nothing happened had me cackling  The Scrat scenes just never get old either

http://i.imgur.com/1bKK64S.jpg

75. The Boss -

I'm usually a massive fan of Melissa McCarthy and think she's one of the best comedic actors around at the moment but I don't think this is one of her best movies really, it certainly doesn't reach the heights of the likes of Spy, Bridesmaids (or even Ghostbusters) for me. I did have a lot of fun watching the movie and there were some really funny moments but there was also a fair few jokes that just did not land at all so I can't rank it above some other comedies. I almost died when she started doing backflips and stuff doing the break-in scene though

Not seen any of those (all for good reason, bar 'Hail Caeser!').

'Kung Fu Panda 3': Didn't like the first two. So I avoided it.

'Warcraft': Fantasy just isn't my thing, for the most part. Plus, it's lukewarm reception put me off from watching it. HUGE in China (?) though, iirc!

'Hail, Caeser!': Reviews put me off of it, but I still wanna see it. The cast is too strong for me to just let it slip away.

'Ice Age': I Despise ALL the other movies, so was never gonna be interested in this.

'The Boss': Melissa McCarthy.

See. All good/understandable reasons. :P

Agreed with what you've wrote about The Boss, as long as The Heat isn't intentionally missed out amongst Spy & Bridesmaids! I think you've placed it roughly right / imagine it'll be a similar area (or slightly lower) for me, some of it I found actively bad and cringe, the plot didn't work at all for me and neither did Melissa's wig.

Tilda was my Hail, Caesar fave, followed by Alden. Don't think I was bothered about Channing but I don't remember much about it other than it being 'OK'.

I loved Kung Fu Panda 3 and Hail Caesar

Haven't seen Ice Age 5. Seen all the other four (The first I loved, the second I also enjoyed, the third I don't remember a lot of, the fourth pretty meh to me)
