I don't know if this has been mentioned in this thread but Saturday sees the 50th anniversary of Radio 1. To mark the occasion, there is a special pop-up station called Radio 1 Vintage which will be on air from Saturday to Monday.

The schedules are at

At 6pm on Sunday we have "The Best Of The Official Chart"

Will these shows be on the iPlayer all month as usual?
Ah so 'Selfish Love' isn't the next single from Jessie Ware. I'm really digging that at the moment, although I can't complain at 'Alone' being chosen as that too is great as well as having a more commercial sound; little bit like 'Say You Love Me'.

'Selfish Love' is the best of the three songs of the era so far so I'm disappointed it's not an official single.

'Rockstar' must be straight to A-list then, I can't see them not adding it this week.

^ I'd expect so

Also on actual Radio 1 on Saturday 30th Nick Grimshaw is doing an additional breakfast show from 6am, joining up with Tony Blackburn from 8:30. Matt Edmondson will also be back with the final weekend of Greatest Hits and Dev & Alice Levine will be doing the afternoon show together.

I'm sort of hoping Dance Anthems will also have a greatest hits theme... Remember when that was their initial plan when they launched the ahow in 2012? It was a good idea to have some classics thrown in so I want to hear plenty this weekend!

Best of the official chart should be good - clips from the biggest no1 countdowns - hope they play Mad World getting to xmas no1 and The 2009 race when Joe wouldn't do an interview!!

Will these shows be on the iPlayer all month as usual?
I'm not 100% certain but I'd imagine they will be. Programmes that are restricted in length on the iPlayer are usually marked with a short expiry date.

Have they been playing those Harry/Miley live lounge playlist additions much this week?

I'm getting married next week so I may struggle to hear a lot of the shows - hope they are available all month on the iplayer!

Congrats! And I'm sure they will be available to listen to until the end of October. Once the first programme has been broadcast at 6am to 6.55am tomorrow if you check the link to that programme on the BBC site it will list how long it is available to listen to. All the other programmes should be available for the same length of time

According to the website the Tune of the weekend is: The Move - Flowers In The Rain

Which was the first ever song played on Radio 1 back in 1967 so I am guessing it is to help celebrate their 50th anniversary weekend :o

Cheers folks :)

I'm shitting a brick tho haha!!

Great track Flowers in the Rain!

On Fearne and Reggie's hour on the vintage R1 station right at the end you got to hear the full top 10 rundown and number one announcement from Fearne's last show as co-presenter on the chart. Was cool hearing all the 2009 jingles.

I’m really enjoying Radio 1 Vintage today! Was really good to hear a rare interview from Michael Jackson earlier on as well as Colin and Edith.

I’ll have to catch up with Pete Tong and Dave Pearce tomorrow. :)

Dave Pearce has definitely been a highlight so far!

Will also be checking out Pete Tong, Fearne & Reggie, Chris Moyles, The Official Chart, Sara Cox, Rob da Bank and maybe Mary Anne Hobbs

So much choice *.*

Radio 1's Greatest Hits looks like it is here to stay! I've seen talk of Matt Edmondson apparently confirming it and the schedule for Saturday 7th says so too :cheer:
