Yeh well 'hit' might be pushing it - but Don't Worry About Me was the single last year that people took notice of her for at any rate!

I've heard Not in Love twice on Radio 1 now and both times they seemed to play a really short version that cut straight to Kent Jones after the first chorus and I don't get why?
I didn't know they made songs TOTD when they were already on the playlist :o

They used to do that regularly up until about a year ago. Now they only do it very occasionally e.g. this, and both recent Ed songs.

R1 have two versions of these songs. The first one is the full length version which is normally played on Monday's-Thursdays and the second version is the short version, as you mentioned, which normally gets played at the TOTH/BOTH, (Top Of The Hour/ Bottom Of The Hour) where they play 3 songs and power intros, but shorten the songs to around two/two and a half minutes.

What days did listen to this song on BTW? The reason above might be the reason you are hearing a shortened version. ;)

Bold = New Entry

Italic = Songs that featured in the Sunday roundup but not in the main Monday show.

I've had Radio 1 on quite a bit this afternoon whilst decorating and (geek alert) those 'power intros' are on a level with the old 1tros. Quite enjoyed hearing them.

Just in case you have no idea what we're on about :lol:

Speaking on the line of imaging and power intros, you may have heard a new imaging set on air for a while now.

And not reported on here for a while but the latest RAJAR ratings say that R1 is losing viewers but not in the direction of the Breakfast show despite it down 0.5m a year.

https://radiotoday.co.uk/2017/02/rajar-q4-2...onal-headlines/

At the BBC, Radio 1 is down from 9.8m to 9.5m this quarter, and down 768,000 listeners since 12 months ago, Radio 2 remains the biggest station in the UK with 15m, despite a drop of 414,000 listeners year-on-year, whilst Radio 3, 4 and 5 live have increased their Reach.

Nick Grimshaw is down half a million listeners year on year to 5.367m but up 0.3m on the previous 3 months.

1Xtra is down below a million whilst 6 Music is pretty static. BBC Radio London’s Reach meanwhile is down 15% since last quarter to 359,000 listeners – a drop of 32% year on year.

Have R1 ran out of non-playlist songs to pick as TOTD? :lol:
