January 10, 20178 yr Author Sherlock is up 3.25m (expected, but still incredible) from its overnight! Outnumbered is up 2.42m; The Witness for the Prosecution (Part 1) is up 2.28m (Part 2 is up 1.82m); Mrs Brown's Boys is up 2.06m; Christmas Bake Off is up 1.80m. Eastenders' NYD episode is up 1.40m - a better time-shift than either of 2016's NYD episodes, but I was hoping for a little more after the overnight was quite disappointing. BBC 2 got great ratings for The Real Marigold on Tour and Channel 5 did very good with The Adele Story too.
January 10, 20178 yr Author According to my recordings of BARB ratings, there was 59 occasions where a programme received over 10m in the official ratings in 2016 (70 when including +1). Bake Off makes up the Top 5 of the highest ratings of the year and Strictly has the most appearances with 21. Expanding on that, this is a list from lewiep93 on Digital Spy that I feel may be of interest: The most watched shows of 2016. As usual, only one highest rated episode per series and only one highest rated Euro match per channel. The England v Iceland game would be higher except it’s, annoyingly, the broadcast average. I’ve included the Christmas Bake Off as it’s standalone compared to the main series. And we’ll never see Bake Off in these lists again either so might as well make the most of it! Compared to their showings from Tuesday 10th, Silent Witness is down 790k and Holby City is down 550k. Midsomer Murders also took a hit, falling 770k week-on-week. It rated 4.43m during Holby City and 3.98m during Silent Witness. Very good for this series of CBB - second highest rating, both including and excluding +1, and highest since the series opener.
