& Val Doonican & his Aran jumpers :P

Yes

We still watch the Good Old Days on a Friday night on BBC4 from 1975.

The level of talent in some of the acts is dreadful  but I can remember watching that early Saturday evenings when I was a kid. I do get all nostalgic watching it.

It's a bit compulsive, something dirty looking about the audience as if they need a good wash :P . I guess it was the early version of Britains Got Talent :P

I'm chucking music into the discussion here too - as we were saying on Twitter -I love Fifth Dimension - one of their songs is Wedding Bell Blues - it's one of my favourites and I never knew Marilyn McKoo and Billy Davis Jr were married in real life. Hence the "Bill! I love you so".... opening line  You live and learn.

what are you talking about? :-)

Elisabeth. The Good Old Days was a popular tv show back in the day , the equivalent Britains Got Talent ( without Simon Cowell ) , it was a big deal at the time

My favourite music of all time comes from the 60's & 70's .

These are The Fifth Dimension Elisabeth

Do you know the song? From the musical Hair?

Then I was saying that two of the members Marilyn McKoo and Billy Davis Jr went on to have this hit - which is one of my favourite songs from the 1970s. But I didn't realise they were married. ^_^

Love this song.

and then in between these two is this song from Fifth Dimension where Marilyn McKoo is asking BD Jr to marry her and I was saying I didn't realise they were married in real life.

Are you still with me?

anyway - I love this song too :) "Bill, I love you so, I always will" :)

nice, but never heard of that. today you can watch old shows on nostalgia programs...if you have time.

This weekend they had a long reportage about boy bands in german TV and started with the coedian Harmonists. obviously TT and especially Robbie were a great deal. it is Germany. Do you remember the Bay City Rollers? Are they still alive?

They were the Scottish group were they not , I used to love them & all their tartan . Yes, I think they are all still alive Elisabeth. If I remember correctly they ended up broke as their manager spent all their money

The Bay City Rollers, named for tossing a dart at a map of the US, and said dart striking Bay City, Michigan....I think they did some reunion shows in Las Vegas within the last 15-20 years...

Yes, even I liked them and their catchy pop tunes...

EDIT: yes they were/are Scottish...

I couldn't stand the BCR when I was 14. -_- I remember their TV show Shang a Lang.

But yes they did make a come back last year as I remember and I think they've booked some live shows so maybe they can still make a living out of music.

Tam Paton was their Manager wasn't he.

Gordon Kaye died recently , actually I thought he had died a number of years ago  but then I remembered that he had suffered a serious brain injury in a accident.

This tv show still makes me laugh out laugh , it was brilliantly written , the comedy thses days is just not the same

Have you ever heard of Allo Allo Elisabeth
