Capital are usually one of LM's biggest supporters so it's unusual to see them not supporting NMSS as of yet

I wouldn't be surprised if they've said they can't make the Summertime Ball this year. Capital are SO petty about this kind of thing. They'll play it when it's a hit though, eventually.
Excellent! Considering we thought it wasn't gonna end up top 40 at the beginning of the week! Just really hope airplay is kind to them. I'm sure they know what they're doing though!

Assuming it's on the same weekend as last year they should be able to. Last year STB was 11 June (very happy birthday to me!) so this year would be the 10th. The last European show of the Glory Days Tour is in Paris on June 8

Summertime Ball performances are always the best cuz of the enormous crowd. Also they get a lot of views on Youtube so it'd be a shame if they don't appear this year.
This is really bleeding on iTunes - down to 60. it goes to show that they really do need airplay to have a hit.

Shame, I really hope it doesn't underperform. It certainly doesn't deserve to be the track that breaks their hit streak. I still think it'll take off once the video's released.

The Capital situation is still baffling to me. You'd think an act of their standing would be able to secure airplay right off the bat.

I really am not worried in the long run, but this is their slowest single to take off since before Black Magic, so it's frustrating waiting.
This is one of their worst timed singles though. Releasing it on the same week as Ed was a terrible choice. And now Drake next saturday... Had I know this was when they'd be releasing, I would have been happy with Oops.
They should have waited till the beginning of April (when the Ed hype had died down a bit) to release this and focused on US ventures/promo until then.

I do agree with this but I think it'll be play in the long run. It's a bit odd that they released this when there wasn't really any demand for a new single from them just yet and Ed is so dominant anything else would just be eclipsed.

I just don't understand the mild reception for 'Oops', nor do I understand why people seem so against it being a single. It's clearly got its fans, judging by its chart performance, and it makes a nice change from the, albeit good, sassy pop bangers. Definitely feels more of a single than 'No More Sad Songs' - now, that is a great song, but it doesn't feel like a single to me, more like fantastic album track. 'Nothing Else Matters', which is slightly similar, sounds much more like a single, although definitely a final single.

I think you might be right, Liam. I think 'Oops' would have been a much bigger hit than 'No More Sad Songs', and in hindsight, would have been a more sensible choice as the third single. I also agree that NMSS feels more like a great album track rather than a strong single choice. I always had doubts about NMSS as a single as it was performing dreadfully on Spotify compared to 'Power' (even 'Down & Dirty' was doing better on there). Having said all that, NMSS could still be a decent sized hit if it's promoted properly and when airplay eventually kicks in.

Plus an Oops video has already been shot apparently, so why would they decide to do two, unless they wanted a US version, but I hate when artists do that. Makes little sense to me.

Yeh, they filmed a video for Oops where Charlie Puth gets covered in gunge so that one is already waiting to be released at some point.

Has a video for 'Oops' actually been shot or was it just speculation?

I think just because it's off to a slower start it doesn't make a difference. NMSS is easily one of the most likely hits on the album. When Hair was released, it was experiencing a very similar fall, but luckily they released the video the same week as the release, which spurred on airplay and made it quite an immediate hit. Neither Oops or Power would have been any faster without performances or a video.
NMSS is one of the best songs on the album, much better than Oops although they shouldn't have just released this as a single quickly after atouch!

That's it really. Touch is still #6 on UK airplay, the release was swallowed up in Sheeran's release week. People don't know about the song yet.

Yup!

I just wish oops was released as a single even when touch was blowing up especially if a video has been shot!

I'm not sure if the Oops video has been shot. One poster on Buzzjack said they saw it in the paper months, but couldn't provide a source and nobody else saw it, but it spread a bit on the internet because of that post.
