November 1, 200915 yr Author A little about the Dalisskan contenders The Girls Judge & Mentor: Kate Miller-Heidke Miranda Hozman Age: 19 Fav Genre: Pop Hometown/city: Lewiz About: Miranda comes from a small town in Dalisska called Lewiz. The town is well known for it's smart and ambitious citizens. Miranda is focused on the competition and will let nothing stand in her way but she can still have a giggle every now and then. Hotly tipped as the favourite to win. Sara White Age: 21 Fav Genre: Ballads Hometown/city: Lyndra About: Sara hasn't got far to go to get to the x factor studios as she hails from the capital itself. Sara is well known to be the clumsiest of the 12 finalists and often falls over herself when paparazzi start snapping her. She doesn't let this get her down though and always jumps back on her feet when the going get's tough. Olive Brown Age: 18 Fav Genre: Europop Hometown/city: Hillovale About: Olive is an extremley quiet girl and fades into the background easily.....until she starts singing and let's everything loose. However there is a fear that she might be forgotten during the voting as she is not overly hyped in the media or by the judges. The Boys Judge & Mentor: Gavin Mikhail Emmet Williams Age: 18 Fav Genre: Jazz Hometown/city: Rillatean About: The hearthrob of the contest....but despite this he is actually very talented however he sometimes comes across a bit cocky but is generally a nice lad. Another contest hotly tipped to be in the final. Ryan Maxwell Age: 16 Fav Genre: Pop Hometown/city: Lyndra About: A fun loving guy who loves to dance and sing. However some people he has met have cast him off as very immature and not capable of lasting in the music business. Regardless he hopes to do his best and prove everyone wrong. (as usual  ) Peter Stone Age: 23 Fav Genre: Rock Hometown/City: Warkinton About: A young guy with quite an edge, one of the more serious competitors. Peter is very realistic and doesn't believe he can win in such a pop infested country.......but other's just say he has a bleak outlook. Despite this he prides himself on top performances each week to at least....."stave off the inevitable" as he calls it. Over 25's Judge & Mentor: Lights Svetlana Shobo Age: 28 Fav Genre: Opera Hometown/City: Kannebek (Kopecka) About: Svetlana comes from a city called Kannebek. She grew up in the suburbs. She moved to Dalisska a few years ago. Svetlana is a caring women who is focused and hopes to do well despite not being in her homeland. Svetlana loves drama and she loves to dance the tango. Unfortunately the tango isn't very popular in Dalisska so she can't find dancing lessens. Harold Rice Age: 38 Fav Genre: Country Hometown/City: Paloneka About: This is his last chance....or so he say's because he's getting on in years and apparently old people can't be successful in the music industry. Harold is a friendly guy however is probably one of the weaker contestants. He makes up for his weaknesses though by his charming and charismatic demeanor. Wendi Moon Age: 32 Fav Genre: Athmospheric Hometown/City: Tekniosa About: Wendi is a typical housewife...with an extraordinary talent. She enjoys singing songs that have a good athmosphere and have a simpleness about them. She's probably the funniest of the final 12 with a dry wit that people can't help but laugh at. Wendi can be very sarcastic too when she wants to be but generally she get's on well with the other contestants. The Groups Judge & Mentor: Elizabeth (Elizabeth & The Catapult) Coolmines Members: Tyler, Brian and Greg Ages: 19, 22 and 20 Fav Genres: Pop/RnB Hometowns/cities: Lyndra, Lyndra, Quingla About: Toted as Dalisska's "JLS" these guys have alot to live up to. Tyler is the baby of the group and many people have said his only job is to get votes from teen girls but that's far from the truth as he actually does have talent. Brain and Greg are more down to earth than Tyler. Room to Breath Members: Summer and Wynter Ages: 18,18 Fav Genres: Electropop Hometowns/cities: Matreeka About: Two quirky girls from a town called Matreeka. As twins Summer and Wynter have a strong bond and both have a strong passion for music. Petal Pushers (Out) Members: Rebekka, Candice and Lola Ages: 20, 21, 19 Fav Genres: RnB/Rap Hometowns/cities: Surlsbury, Surlsbury, Surlsbury About: Three girls who like to think they're on top of all the latest trends and in general are pretty cool. But unfortunately for them it all backfired last night when they were eliminated. Rebekka is known to have a firey temper and as a result boxed one of the cameramen in the face after the show went offline. Candice and Lola are more down to earth and are always trying to calm Rebekka down in this kind of situations. Edited November 1, 200915 yr by Sabrewulf238
November 1, 200915 yr 2004 2005 Listen and be proved wrong Rich :smoke: Surely the release of (one of) the greatest pop album(s) of the decade (Come And Get It) makes 2005 fantastic?! :o If you look beyond the dire acoustic fetish that the country had that year then it actually was quite a fantastic year... EDIT: On second thoughts, two of the greatest pop albums of the decade...I forgot Breakaway :drama: I did enjoy both of those albums, particularly Breakaway which was my highlight of 2005... it's more 2004 that I had a problem with and the faceless one hit wonder urban trash that seemed to be ruling the charts and selling only 4k to reach the top ten

November 1, 200915 yr Well, if we're judging years to be awful based on predominant genres excuse me while I dismiss 2006/7 entirely for the identikit indie that pervaded :P
November 1, 200915 yr Babycakes and Khia unfortunately DID enter my conscience in 2004. I think that was why I gave up on it :kink:
November 1, 200915 yr Babycakes and Khia unfortunately DID enter my conscience in 2004. I think that was why I gave up on it :kink: Babycakes is one of those songs I know I should hate with every fibre of my being...but I just can't :snif: On the other hand, Khia MUST be worshipped by all. She's like Kelis but DIRTYYYY  And Kelis - Millionaire is potentially the ultimate reason why 2004 was just omgamaze.
November 1, 200915 yr Well, if we're judging years to be awful based on predominant genres excuse me while I dismiss 2006/7 entirely for the identikit indie that pervaded :P it wasn't fun, but there was plenty of amazing pop and other genres for me in those years so I was able to ignore it...plus some of it was ok, I actually liked some of the Kooks songs :heehee: 2004 was inexcusable...seriously, I look back on the retro 5 years ago every week and there was never more than 3 songs a week that I actually liked in the top ten...quite often this year I've liked the entire top ten! I also DESPISED both 3 Of A Kind and Khia :puke:
November 1, 200915 yr 2004 was inexcusable...seriously, I look back on the retro 5 years ago every week and there was never more than 3 songs a week that I actually liked in the top ten...quite often this year I've liked the entire top ten! Some of my favourites from 2004 missed, or only scraped the top 10. "1980", "Afrodisiac", "Come As You Are". The faceless chart toppers may have been bad, but I simply cannot have 2004 completely written off. In fact I'd say it's one of my favourites of the decade. Beverley Knight released what is probably her best album ("Affirmation"), Estelle released her debut and Brandy released "Afrodisiac". The first two would probably be in my top 10 albums of the decade. I was also not listening to music from about 2001-2007, but it's one of my faves, looking back. 2003, however, is easily my least favourite year, hardly anyone I like released and the biggest hits are beyond over rated. ("Where Is The Love?", "Crazy In Love", "Beautiful", "Superstar" etc.)
November 1, 200915 yr 2003 was dire, definitely my least favourite year of the decade musically...the only good thing about it was Delta Goodrem...my favourite single of the year not released by Delta was something ridiculous like Carnival Girl by Texas  2004 wasn't that bad I guess, I mean just chartwise it was...at least good music is reaching the top of the charts again these days...I mean Corrs' Borrowed Heaven came out in 2004 and that was a brilliant album, one of their finest, and then there was Delta's Mistaken Identity, Natasha Bedingfield's excellent debut album, plus brilliant albums from Atomic Kitten and Lucie Silvas, just none of them were as big as I was hoping them to be...
November 1, 200915 yr 2003's biggest hits all got overplayed and really haven't aged well...2004's definitely one of my favourites. It was a SPECTACULAR year for R&B (You Should Really Know is one of the best answer songs ever IMO) and some of my favourite songs of all time are from 2004 (Nelly Furtado - Try, Toxic & Everytime are some of Britney's best, I Believe In You = best Christmas #2 ever, Afrodisiac...), as well as some of the best albums of the decade - Kelis, Brandy, Scissor Sisters...all of this MORE than makes up for the faceless R&B in my view

It's at a point where No Doubt - It's My Life is my favourite song of 2003 now! :drama:
November 1, 200915 yr I Believe In You wasn't xmas No.2 Tyron, it was Steve Brookstein's dreadful Against All Odds :puke:
