March 4, 20178 yr BEST CHARACTER http://i.imgur.com/YiOrmak.gif 01. Deadpool (Deadpool) (3 / 5) 02. Harley Quinn (Suicide Squad) (3 / 3) 03. Dory (Finding Dory) (2 / 2) 04. Captain America (Civil War) (2 / 1) 04. Nick Wilde (Zootropolis) (2 / 1) 06. Jyn Erso (Rogue One: A Star Wars Story) (2 / 0) 07. Judy (Zootropolis) (1 / 1) really buzzjack??? that winning?? wtaf.. we'll get to that later (x2) literally any of the others would have been more preferable also I just noticed every single performance here got nominated in the acting or voice categories!!! My favourite here, Judy, unfortunately flops in last place :( Nick doesn't do much better with Jyn Erso sandwiched between them, well that's now my top 3 of this category all out in one sweep! Captain America also does a little worse than I was expecting, can't say I'm not quietly pleased with that though. Dory was fab as ever but she was better in the first film and Harley was like the only good thing about Suicide Squad! And the completely overrated Deadpool wins here due to 2nd preference votes, ugh why couldn't one more person have voted for Harley! Actually I'm gonna refrain myself from commenting any more about this or I'll probs go mad
March 4, 20178 yr Predict away!! Best Script: 1st Preference: - 10 Cloverfield Lane - - Arrival - - Deadpool - - Kubo & The Two Strings - - Me Before You - - Moana - - Nocturnal Animals - - Zootropolis - Best Adaptation of a Source Material: - Arrival - - Captain America: Civil War - - Fantastic Beasts & Where To Find Them - - Sully - - The Conjuring 2 - - The Jungle Book -
March 4, 20178 yr BEST SCRIPT http://i.imgur.com/5xr0Ooz.gif 01. Arrival (5 / 3) 02. Zootropolis (3 / 2) 03. Deadpool (3 / 1) 04. 10 Cloverfield Lane (2 / 4) 05. Nocturnal Animals (1 / 1) 06. Kubo & The Two Strings (1 / 0) 07. Me Before You (0 / 2) 08. Moana (0 / 0) Another win for Arrival here! Lol Moana really is struggling like f*ck tonight, another awful showing here. :( Glad to see Me Before You at least got a couple of 2nd preference votes (including myself), it should've been nominated for more than it was, one of the best of 2016 and such a beautiful film <3 The also wonderful Kubo & The Two Strings surprised me by sneaking a nomination here and it also does solidly! Nocturnal Animals and Deadpool both do better than they deserve to, the latter coming top 3 but thankfully not winning considering the only good part of the script rly was the opening credits. Sandwiched between them is nominations favourite 10 Cloverfield Lane who's thrilling script picked up the highest amount of 2nd preference votes! And it's a 2nd place finish for Buzzjack favourite Zootropolis which had an incredible script which was witty but also surprisingly important and so relevant in this day and age! So Arrival wins here then! It really is slaying tonight and its script is fabulous, especially the twist which I never saw coming! BEST ADAPTATION OF A SOURCE MATERIAL http://i.imgur.com/5xr0Ooz.gif 01. Arrival (6 / 1) 02. Fantastic Beasts & Where To Find Them (3 / 3) 03. Captain America: Civil War (2 / 3) 03. The Jungle Book (2 / 3) 05. Sully (1 / 2) 06. The Conjuring 2 (1 / 1) Another win for Arrival here! ALSO! Conjuring 2/Sully did well to get nominations here and were both worthy nominees! The Jungle Book was a good adaptation but again a worthy nomination but not a winner for me and Civil War was quite good! Haven't seen Fantastic Beasts but I'm surprised it didn't do a lot better around the board here tbh! So Arrival wins here then! It really is slaying tonight and its script is fabulous, especially the twist which I never saw coming! (yep this is copy & pasted from above!)
March 4, 20178 yr Errr no at the Deadpool shade, his personality and fourth wall breaking was one of the many great things about that film, an example for all superheroes <3 Brilliant to see Arrival slaying, I haven't seen 10 Cloverfield Lane but The Witch was a pretty harrowing little film, even if I found it extremely difficult to follow.
March 4, 20178 yr The fact they took a short story and made it into such a stunning film proves Arrival is a worthy winner.
March 4, 20178 yr BEST ENSEMBLE: http://i.imgur.com/0AcR159.gif 01. Captain America: Civil War (5 / 1) 02. Star Wars: Rogue One (3 / 2) 03. Finding Dory (2 / 1) 03. Suicide Squad (2 / 1) 05. 10 Cloverfield Lane (1 / 7) 06. The Nice Guys (1 / 1) 07. The Accountant (1 / 0) The Accountant's very surprise nomination doesn't result it in doing any better than expected here! Also wasn't expecting to see The Nice Guys here and that unfortunately also struggled :( Despite getting the most votes based on first + second preferences, 10 Cloverfield Lane only ends up in 5th due to 7 of the 8 votes for it being for 2nd preference! Thrilling film with standout performances from a small ensemble! Suicide Squad's mostly disappointing ensemble and Finding Dory's good but yeah there were better animation ensembles this year take bronze medal places here! Rogue One also finally does well this evening with its fab ensemble getting 2 place! And Civil War wins an award it deserves as it is a fantastic ensemble with many of the best superheroes popping up in it *.* GOTG 2 (or Star Wars) win next year followed by Infinity War the year after? Or will something upset them!!
March 4, 20178 yr Best Director next! Your nominees are: - 10 Cloverfield Lane - Dan Trachtenberg - - Arrival - Denis Villeneuve - - Captain America: Civil War - Joe & Anthony Russo - - Nocturnal Animals - Tom Ford - - The Jungle Book - Jon Favreau - Who'll win? You predict and I'll reveal!
March 4, 20178 yr BEST DIRECTOR: http://i1250.photobucket.com/albums/hh537/ultraviolence1989/arrival_zpssp9q2z0z.jpg 01. Arrival - Denis Villeneuve (8 / 2) 02. 10 Cloverfield Lane - Dan Trachtenberg (4 / 4) 03. The Jungle Book - Jon Favreau (2 / 2) 04. Nocturnal Animals - Tom Ford (1 / 1) 05. Captain America: Civil War - Joe & Anthony Russo (0 / 4) ANOTHER massive win for Arrival! A blend of most of the oscar contenders being shifted to next year's ceremony, it's fanbase on here and just the general fact it is amazing has rly seen it dominate tonight! How much more can it win?! Denis Villeneuve first popped up on my radar for his excellent direction with 'Prisoners' (the first 15 films I ever saw in cinemas, at the age of 13 x) and Arrival is his best work yet, fantastic work and a well deserved kinda landslide again! The only person to come close to him is Dan Trachtenberg for his great direction in 10 Cloverfield Lane, another forum favourite! John Favreau's direction in The Jungle Book was great and Tom Ford/the Russos were good but there were more worthy nominees this year. Though these results for this category have kind of turned out for the best!
March 4, 20178 yr So just the big 5 to go I think *.* If you still haven't sent me your Best Picture write-ups then do that now! I will be revealing the supporting categories now! Following this one of Josh/Jahq will reveal the main acting categories and then we will all do best pic + the writeups after that! I might start some of the Razzies Awards up if I don't need to eat by time I've finished supporting categories!
March 4, 20178 yr Predict away! Will not be posting results until somebody predicts a full prediction for at least one of these! (as in a 1 to 5 prediction!!) Supporting Actor: - 10 Cloverfield Lane - John Goodman - - Ghostbusters - Chris Hemsworth - - Hail, Caesar! - Alden Ehrenreich - - Money Monster - Jack O'Connell - - Nocturnal Animals - Aaron Taylor Johnson - Best Supporting Actress: - Bad Moms - Christina Applegate - - Nocturnal Animals - Isla Fisher - - Queen Of Katwe - Lupita N'Yongo - - Suicide Squad - Margot Robbie - - The Light Between Oceans - Rachel Weisz -
March 4, 20178 yr I predict another 'Arrival' win. Surely? I'm thinking it might win "Best Film" too! 'Captain America' fully deserved "Best Ensemble"! Script I get and won't argue against, but I think I'd have preferred 'Captain America', 'The Conjuring 2' or 'The Jungle Book' to have won best "Adapted Screenplay"! I'll take a guess and say this will be the outcome for "Best Director"! 'Arrival' - '10 Cloverfield Lane' - 'Captain America: Civil War' - 'The Jungle Book' - 'Nocturnal Animals' EDIT: LMAO I REALLY NEED TO HURRY WITH MY POSTS LMAO. Aaron or John for "Best Supporting Actor" and Margot for "Best Supporting Actress" please!
March 4, 20178 yr Good as Civil War, it wasn't veyr well adapted from the comics tbhThey did as well as they could considering they haven't got the rights to a lot of the main players of that comic!
March 4, 20178 yr BEST SUPPORTING ACTRESS: PART 1 01. coming up 02. coming up 03. Nocturnal Animals - Isla Fisher (2 / 4) 04. Queen Of Katwe - Lupita N'Yongo (2 / 1) 05. Bad Moms - Christina Applegate (0 / 4) So of course none of the 5 actual Oscar nominees were eligible here this year! I wonder how many of them will pick up nominations in next years awards while facing the 2017 crowd (I think Viola surely will, maybe Michelle/Nicole/Naomie also and can't see Octavia having any chance of getting in, I'm not even sure she would have even made it in this line-up) First out of the bag is our comedy nominee this year Christina Applegate for her performance in Bad Moms! She received no main votes but a big 4 2nd preference votes so doesn't do too badly! I loved Christina in Bad Moms but I thought Kathryn Hayn was better and would've been a more worthy nominee here over Christina! Into 4th we have Lupita N'yongo for her first live-action performance since 12 Years A Slave! Lupita was fabulous this and I rly wish she received more Oscar buzz for her performance, anyway she grabbed a few fans here for her great portrayl! And into 3rd we have the wildcard choice, Isla Fisher for her performance in Nocturnal Animals! I thought she was very good and I ADORE her but I find her probably the weakest performance in this category tbh! Rachel Weisz vs. Margot Robbie , who's won?
March 4, 20178 yr BEST SUPPORTING ACTOR: PART 1 01. coming up 02. coming up 03. Alden Ehrenreich - Hail, Caesar! (2 / 1) 04. Money Monster - Jack O'Connell (1 / 1) 05. Ghostbusters - Chris Hemsworth (0 / 5) Here only 3 of the 5 actual Oscar nominees weren't eligible here this year! I wonder how many of them will pick up nominations in next years awards while facing the 2017 crowd (I actually think Dev could be the only one nominated, Mahershala/Lucas have a chance but I wouldn't be shocked if both were snubbed and Michael Shannon/Jeff Bridges both failed to secure nominations here this year!) First out of the bag, just like supporting actress, is our comedy nominee this year Chris Hemsworth who was surprisingly amazing in Ghostbusters (also talking of Ghostbusters, Kate McKinnon rly should have been nominated in one of the actress categories!)! He also received no main votes but a big FIVE 2nd preference votes so doesn't do too badly! Chris was actually in my top 2 here tbh and I'm still glad he got a nomination! Into 4th we have Jack O'Connell for Money Monster which has a lot of fans on Buzzjack! Jack was great in this and I'm glad he got a nomination here as his portrayl of his character was great! Fantastic actor who I think and hope will continue to get better and better roles in the future! And into 3rd we have the should've been winner of this category but still utterly delighted that he was even nominated Alden Ehrenreich for Hail, Caesar! He really was a revelation in this and it was fab to see him getting loads of critical approval for this after loving him ever since Beautiful Creatures! I rly think he could have got an Oscar nod had Hail, Caesar been released in like November and not February but then he probs wouldn't have got Han Solo had that happened so oh well! He is funny and charming in this and yasss Buzzjack for him getting a few votes here! <3 Aaron Taylor Johnson vs. John Goodman , who's won?
March 4, 20178 yr BEST SUPPORTING ACTOR: PART 2 http://i1250.photobucket.com/albums/hh537/ultraviolence1989/na_zps9yl1pitw.gif 01. Nocturnal Animals - Aaron Taylor-Johnson (6 / 0) 02. 10 Cloverfield Lane - John Goodman (5 / 3) 03. Hail, Caesar! - Alden Ehrenreich (2 / 1) 04. Money Monster - Jack O'Connell (1 / 1) 05. Ghostbusters - Chris Hemsworth (0 / 5) So ATJ has done it here! Just! In 2nd place we have 10 Cloverfield Lane nearly picking up another award for John Goodman's absolutely fantastic supporting performance in 10 Cloverfield Lane, one that really should've received more attention during Awards season! He is hauntingly brilliant and it is a killer performance, terrific and I would have rather he won here! He also picked up more votes than ATJ altogether but he split them between first & second preference votes! Despite failing to pick up any 2nd preference votes, Aaron's six first preference votes were enough to give him the win here! He gave a fantastic performance in a film I didn't really like too much and even though there were better options to win here, Aaron still deserves it! Aaron shocked everyone when he won the Golden Globe and subsequently secured a BAFTA nomination but he missed out on the Oscars in place of his co-star, Michael Shannon!
March 4, 20178 yr BEST SUPPORTING ACTRESS: PART 2 http://i1250.photobucket.com/albums/hh537/ultraviolence1989/margot_zps9xgebphd.gif 01. Suicide Squad - Margot Robbie (7 / 1) 02. The Light Between Oceans - Rachel Weisz (3 / 1) 03. Nocturnal Animals - Isla Fisher (2 / 4) 04. Queen Of Katwe - Lupita N'Yongo (2 / 1) 05. Bad Moms - Christina Applegate (0 / 4) Landslide here, and a well deserved win for Margot even though she was my 2nd choice! My favourite here was the absolutely TERRIFIC Rachel Weisz in the criminally underrated 'The Light Between Oceans'! She thankfully had a few big fans on the site for her heartbreaking supporting performance and she really deserved more acclaim and awards for this performance! Quite simply stunning. Hoping she can somehow score a nomination next year for her great performance in 'Denial' but I can't see it happening. And the winner here by a LONG WAY is Margot Robbie who actually took her character and did something good with it unlike the rest of the Suicide Squad cast! Margot transforms Harley completely and portrays her fantastically *.* Definitely the best part of Suicide Squad and a deserving winner! This is the first time Margot has won a Buzzjack Movie Award and I'm sure she'll win more in the future with projects such as I, Tonya and the A.A. Milne biopic on the way hopefully providing Margot with more success here and at the actual awards! Also Margot is one of my fave actresses around at the moment so also delighted she won and this is kind of her 1st nomination but in that flashback thing (which didn't rly work but we could try again with just the picture & acting categories if anyone wants, if you do post here cause I think it could work!) she secured nominations for one of About Time or Wolf Of Wall Street I think which she was fab in both!
March 4, 20178 yr oops maybe there wasn't much point doing those separately as no one commented in between!! though I think whoever does the acting ones should do them separately as those are a lot closer!! that's it for me here and I'll do some Razzies quickly so join me there!
March 4, 20178 yr Both completely deserved wins and were truly award worthy performances. Glad Aaron got official recognition from Golden Globes etc.. but I'm actually a little saddened Margot didn't for Harley. But maybe she was a bit TOO out there as a character...
