Aaron stole the whole movie tbh, in any scene not with Amy.

Great presentation!

Pretty much mostly good results here, except John Goodman should have won, totally dominated that film. The Suicide Squad soundtrack contained: Bo Rap, Paranoid, Fortunate Son, 7 Nation Army, You Don't Own Me, House Of The Rising Sun, Superfreak, Sympathy For The Devil, Without Me and Spirit In The Sky: that is one helluva list of classic oldies. The fab newies, Heathens, the stunning version of I Started A Joke and Sucka For Pain were merely bonuses :cheer: Just watched the DVD longer version, more Harley in it and the pacing is better, but the cast were never meant to be likeable, cos they are all DC Comics baddies, a bit like the old movie The Dirty Dozen, which it ripped off plotwise (alebit war not monsters)

Both completely deserved wins and were truly award worthy performances. Glad Aaron got official recognition from Golden Globes etc.. but I'm actually a little saddened Margot didn't for Harley. But maybe she was a bit TOO out there as a character...

I really think Margot would have got more Awards attention (maybe not Oscars but could definitely see Golden Globes) had the movie received good/great reviews from critics!

Was really, really shocked when I saw Margot Robbie win but she did completely nail the role so not bad at all really. Think it's going to be a pretty iconic role/character in years to come. My personal choice would've been Rachel Weisz though, still a bit gutted that TLBO fell off the map come awards season due to the reviews, the performances were phenomenal still !!

Great winner for supporting actor too, he was completely petrifying in Nocturnal Animals and really stole the show (way more exciting than Michael Shannon, wish he got the Oscar nomination instead!). Was kind of hoping Chris Hemsworth would do better though, good comedy is really hard to get right but he has perfect comedic timing and seems to be a real comedy talent (would've been a great real supporting nomination like Melissa McCarthy in Bridesmaids had it happened :()

03 Tom Hanks - Sully (3 / 2)
04 Ryan Reynolds - Deadpool (2 / 6)
05 Chris Evans - Captain America: Civil War (1 / 2)
06 Diego Luna - Rogue One: A Star Wars Story (1 / 0)

A fair few blockbuster nominees here but neither could get many votes to actually win here, Ryan Reynolds coming the closest, he was pretty much made for the role of Deadpool and even managed a Golden Globe nomination for it, unfortunately he missed out come the Oscars :( Chris Evans is also incredibly famous for his role as Captain America and it's hard to imagine anybody else in the role. Tom Hanks was getting a lot of awards buzz early on for his role in Sully but pretty much all hype for that movie fizzled out by the time awards season rolled around despite the great box office returns for the film. He did a great job but it's what you've come to expect from such a Hollywood legend (it's a shame he's been overlooked for both this and Captain Phillips in recent years though :()

also some little insight on the supporting categories:

Margot walked it in the nominations stage

John also walked it in the nominations stage

also f***ing overjoyed at Ryan Reynolds kinda flopping considering he also was top during nominations!!

01 Jake Gyllenhaal - Nocturnal Animals (5 / 0)
02 Ryan Gosling - The Nice Guys (3 / 3)
03 Tom Hanks - Sully (3 / 2)
04 Ryan Reynolds - Deadpool (2 / 6)
05 Chris Evans - Captain America: Civil War (1 / 2)
06 Diego Luna - Rogue One: A Star Wars Story (1 / 0)

A little bit of a shock but Nocturnal Animals has actually managed to steal two acting awards wins here tonight. Jake Gyllenhaal is pretty much excellent in everything and much like I said for Tom Hanks, it's a shame that he's missed out on more Oscar nominations in recent years for films like this and Nightcrawler. He is a character you massively feel for in the film and really root for him to get his revenge in whatever way it may come. Ryan Gosling had a fantastic year with La La Land and even bagged himself a second Oscar nomination, but I must admit that if it was up to me, this would be the film he was nominated for instead. He's absolutely hilarious throughout the whole thing and it was just great to see the two lead actors having so much fun, wish it got more awards appreciation!!

I'm the total opposite about Jake  I thought he was the major weak part of NA and I hated his characters. Kinda rooted for Aaron's character to get away with

murder, oops.

Wasn;t who I wanted to win (Chris Evans ) but then again not seen Nocturnal Animals yet so well Done Jake!

Jake was great (as ever) in NA! Definitely one of the main draws of the film for me. I think 'Nightcrawler' and 'Prisoners' are his best performances to date though. But I think I've loved him in pretty much everything I've seen him in, so far! A deserved win there.

Ryan Gosling getting 2nd is a bigger surprise for me. Such an underrated performance by him. I was in stitches because of his character in 'The Nice Guys'!

03 Alicia Vikander - The Light Between Oceans (3 / 0)
04 Felicity Jones - Rogue One: A Star Wars Story (2 / 0)
05 Emily Blunt - The Girl On the Train (1 / 7)

Some great nominees drop out here and two of these are actresses I'd have loved to have seen nominated at many of this year's awards. It feels that Emily Blunt is long overdue an Oscar nomination at this stage and she gained a lot of second preferences here, she was by far the best thing about The Girl On the Train but I think the poor reviews definitely damaged her chances at awards (she got SAG and BAFTA noms which was nice though!) :( Alicia Vikander, hot off her emotional Oscar winnning performance, played another heart-breaking role and did it just as well. It was similar to her role in The Danish Girl but it's a little shame that this'll be forgotten and her other performance has a place in history now when this was just as good imo! I found Felicity Jones kinda annoying in Star Wars but two of you liked her a lot, unfortunately she probably won't be appearing in any more Star Wars movies

(unless force ghosts make a reappearance :D)

Mary Elizabeth Winstead vs. Amy Adams?!?!

Very strong line-up. Emily was the only good bit about TGOTT (that 2nd preference tally though!!!!!), Felicity was great and gosh Alicia rly should have been up for everything this year  Her performance was so incredible and probably my favourite of the year! <3

I predict Amy will win, but I'd prefer Mary to steal the victory.

I'm 95% sure 'Arrival' will win "Best Film" now though! That other 5% is saying '10 Cloverfield Lane' lamfoo.

There's a bit of a thing about my commentaries tonight and people have two unfair recent Oscar snubs, poor Amy surprisingly missed out on Oscar nominations for both Arrival and Big Eyes in the last couple of years and unfortunately just misses the top spot here. Her performance is very subtle but the whole movie works so well because of it, guess she just needs to wait for her Revenant to come around  In another shock win though, Mary Elizabeth Winstead actually takes the win here. Personally, John Goodman was my highlight from 10 Cloverfield Lane but she was very impressive too and the film is clearly popular here on Buzzjack. Not to long to wait to see how well it does in the Best Picture category :D

Mary's Performance was excellent and well deserved I am so glad I watched 10 Cloverfield Lane as she really carried the film
