I love Regina and Jonjo's commentaries for Age Of Ultron really well write pieces. I 100% need more of Sharron Carter. I find it hard in Marvel movies to hate characters  Normally I can easily hate some but with Marvel its hard too!

BEST PICTURE: NOMINEE #11
http://i65.tinypic.com/2yl2o0j.jpg

Disney animation has been on enjoying a new renaissance in the 2010s quite deservedly from a run of almost flawless animations following the lull in the 2000s, Zootopia (I'm not claiming that other name) continues this very nicely, a universal story, told in the charming format of an animal world, of a determined hare that fight prejudice and prior expectations to make it big as a police officer in the mammal capital city, and with an unlikely companion of a quite literal sly fox, uncovering a vast conspiracy that threatens the status quo of things in the big city. With likeable characters, an engaging story and some brilliantly timely and relevant themes about overcoming prejudice and the fear that moral panics can lead to racism told in a medium that all ages can understand, this is yet another triumph for Disney and surely one for the ages.
Thanks to Chez for that commentary on our final Best Picture nominee!

First of all, what an absolutely gorgeous animation movie! The animation was absolutely fantastic and some of the best animation I have ever seen, it all looked really realistic and Zootopia looks like such a fun and beautiful city! The voice cast were also amazing, Ginnifer Goodwin and Jason Bateman brought so much life to their characters and made you adore them! I also adored the characters, Hopps was cute adorable and Nick was great and really interesting! I also loved Hopps parents and I never saw the final

twist coming with the nice rabbit being the villain until she entered the museum :o Great twist and worked really well, that scene in particular was incredible! Especially the Nick/Judy part where you felt Nick had turned bad till it was revealed they were acting!

. And the sloths were so fun and adorable and I screamed at Flash's last scene

Another way this movie absolutely excels is the interaction between Nick and Judy and how close they are together! The story is incredible and the film is elevated even more by the many important themes and messages it tackles and successfully conveying them in such a fantastic manner to make Zootropolis an important movie as well as an amazing one  The movie made me smile and laugh so much the entire time!

My only tiny tiny complaint is that I would have liked a little bit more of Gazelle as she seemed non existent! Try Everything was a great track though and works excellently in the context of the movie!

I really could (and probably will in a few days time when I've got more time) gush on about this masterpiece for way longer but I'm tired now so going to sleep

Thanks to Ultraviolence1989 for that commentary on our final Best Picture nominee!

Also add me to the group who needs more Sharon Carter! Genuinely in my top 5 from all the avengers superhero movies characters!

Was also shocked that Trolls beat Moana but then best picture really did through up some interesting results this year! *cough* X-Men Apocalypse getting one and appearing no where else *cough*

I went to the cinema again the other day to see Trolls and it really is heaps of fun so I'm glad to see it get some recognition here. I agree with Jonjo though that Moana would have been a better pick for another animated film, can't beat a good old Disney film really!

And with that we are finished for tonight! We will announce Best Picture tomorrow evening when Jahq is probably around! In the mean time please comment on the commentaries and I rly hope you like them! <3

Also I'll give you a spoiler though x: two films got 0 votes on 1st AND 2nd preferences

So unless it pics up best picture, Star Wars is the biggest loser with 0 wins from 9 nominations. Followed by Moana with 0 from 8 and Sully with 0 from 4

I really like and enjoy 'Zootropolis'. I DO think, however, it's overrated ever so slightly! For me, the other 2 Disney offerings are FAR stronger. But hey, I wouldn't say anything particularly negative about this movie. It's really sweet and charming all round. Flash is one of my fave Disney characters already

Well, I didn't know you were all going to go all out with the paragraphs, now you're making my rush job commentaries look even more shit! :kink: Hoping Zootopia or Deadpool win, they made up the vast majority of my votes (or Arrival ofc., but I think it's won enough~).

(I didn't notice the Rogue One snubbage here :/)

Edited by Chez Wombat

results coming from Josh and I and maybe Jahq tomorrow evening for this and razzies, be here then!

Also stay tuned for a very busy week of announcements in the forum. With new features and old features returning! (If you have any suggestions please get in touch with me asap!)

Sorry I haven't been around enough to comment on the general excellence of this whole thread. My bad/been busy. Some great commentaries too.

Arrival HAS to take the Best Picture award as it's clearly the best of the bunch with Cloverfield 2nd, which even though it's brilliant isn't the best Horror of the year but I'm not bitter at all.

Other than that I can't really argue too much with the other winners.

10th - THE GIRL ON THE TRAIN (0 / 0)

http://i.imgur.com/I5e0agU.gif
10th - X-MEN: APOCALYPSE (0 / 0)

So in joint last place we have two movies which failed to get any votes whatsoever. I think most people predicted these would be towards the bottom as they were shock nominees in the first place, especially X-men which bagged a nomination here without a single other one in any of the other categories. It was a fun film but a massive step down from Days of Future Past and Deadpool and I think Apocalypse as a villain rightfully got ridiculed by a lot of critics for looking utterly stupid. There was still plenty of fun action scenes (Quicksilver got a great action scene again) and familiar faces to make it an enjoyable film, just not best film worthy perhaps.

Second up is The Girl On the Train which also didn't receive the best reviews and not compared favourably to Gone Girl either. I thoroughly enjoyed it though and I love how the story unravels so that the ending really pays off. Emily Blunt made the film even better but all of the supporting cast did a good job but critics didn't seem to like it. You guys did though but not that much as it did end up getting no votes here

http://i.imgur.com/pdPNSj4.gif
8th - TROLLS (0 / 1)

Here we have another joint placing with two movies just receiving one second preference vote each. 2016 saw the return of J.K. Rowling's return to the Wizarding World and I think Fantastic Beasts managed to please both fans and critics. It was great to see more of the universe outside of Hogwarts and we were introduced to many great new characters including Newt Scamander, Jacob Kowalski and Queenie & Porpentina Goldstein. The fantastic beasts themselves were great fun too, my personal favourite (the Niffler) being displayed in all it's cuteness in the gif above.

The other movie dropping out here is Trolls which is another movie that I don't think many people expected to make it as a nominee here. Saying that, it has a really strong and verbal fanbase on Buzzjack as a lot of people enjoyed just how happy it is. It has some great little tunes too and personable voice acting and what's not to love really? Not the most thought-provoking film ever but it's vibrant, happy and bundles of fun

6th - ROGUE ONE: A STAR WARS STORY (1 / 1)

Another joint finish  I promise the top 5 actually has no ties!! Next film to drop out is Deadpool, I was actually expecting this to come a bit higher as it ended up quite high on a lot of people's EOY on the internet that I saw. It managed to blend superhero action and raunchy humour perfectly and was praised for pushing the boundaries of how far popular movies can go. It had some fantastic jokes and you can tell Ryan Reynolds clearly loves the role, the recent teaser for Deadpool 2 has me incredibly hyped too so hopefully that will not be too far off.

The first Star Wars spin-off, Rogue One, drops out too in this batch and it got incredibly good reviews too, even being compared to the original trilogy. The film introduces to an all new cast of characters and doesn't shy away from a heart-breaking and dark ending. I would be lying if I said I enjoyed this as much as the main story line movies but it definitely filled a Star Wars gap that kept me content whilst waiting for Episode 8. Roll on the Han Solo spin off too (pleeeaaase Disney give us a Ewan McGregor Obi-Wan spin-off afterwards too!!!!)
