I remember reading in Music Week just before the album came out that the record company were planning to release about 5 singles from the album over an 18 month period. There was also mention about reissuing the album with several new tracks. Can anyone shed anymore light on this? I think music week stated some of the unreleased tracks were much less upbeat and showed a different style. What happened to these tracks? It's a shame they never saw the light of day. Aphrodite had so much potential but was badly managed like a lot of her Parlophone albums.

What would be the point in throwing money at a campaign that was pretty much dead as soon as the album was released?
I remember being so hopeful at the prospect of a re-issue because 300k seemed so little back then! If only I knew...

I was not asking for your opinion about whether the album should have been reissued so you have missed the whole point of the thread. I was asking whether anyone knew any information about the planned reissue which was initially referred to in music week before the album came out. We all know it never happened because the album didn't do as well as they hoped.

There was no news, it was all swept under the carpet and forgottne about.
Aphrodite and X were both albums that had so much greater potential if managed correctly. Aphrodite is an era and album i remember fondly, the music output by large was strong, the album was very coherent. X did have its flaws as it lacked coherency but when it was good it was wonderful.
