Mixed reviews, #3 peak, three unsuccessful singles released pre-Rather Be, 100k copies sold as of this year across an original edition, deluxe edition, and special edition with bonus tracks.

So, not bad, but not brilliant. They've got more momentum going in behind this one, you'd think.

Not sure you can call Real Love unsuccessful given it went to #2 and I'd even argue Stronger was semi-successful.

They did say 'pre' Rather Be... i.e. Mozart's House etc.

Vera Lynn will definitely be #2 officially - although it's currently sold out on Amazon.

Shame that Ed will prevent her becoming the oldest living singer to achieve a #1.

Drake's album is almost ahead of her already with 2 fewer days of sales, and that's downloads only, not even yet including his streaming figures which should beef up his sales considerably. I think Vera will likely be #2 on sales (as her sales will be consistent/increasing through the week) but I doubt she'll beat Drake overall for the week.

(also doesn't she already hold that record? :P)

Once Drake's streaming sales are added he's surely bound to be #2 easily.

Good to have another decent week for album sales anyway, lots to prove the album format isn't as dead as perceived recently.

Streaming is probably even rejuvinating the album concept in fact. I don't agree with the way Ed/Drake are being over-represented in the singles chart at all, but kudos to them both for getting a lot of young listeners to stream albums right the way through, as hopefully these consumers will continue to do so with other releases in the future.

I think the chart is utter crap. The idea of Drake and Ed Sheeran tracks filling the top end of the chart is worse that all the Jive Bunny singles put together! God help us if Drake and Ed Sheeran team up to do a duet!

:w00t:

Surely if Drake and Sheeran did a duet that would only occupy one chart position?

Yeah, number one for six months minimum. Please, don't give them this idea...

The Drake album tracks are doing better than I expected today and the Ed album tracks are selling more too, but you'll notice there is no missing Apple Music data today which will explain that :magic: Hard to predict where the Drake tracks will end up as a result of this though.

Top 5 albums sales are so strong, credit to Rag n Bone Man for having such good sales since he released the album, its holding very strong.

I would be delighted if Galway Girl can topple Shape of You,ideally i would like Ed Sheeran to have at least 2 number 1 singles from his divide album.

Drake is set to have nearly a whole quarter of the top 100 this week - all 22 songs on the album plus 'One Dance' and his feature on Nicki Minaj's 'No Frauds'.

Ed is not quite going to make 200k this week is he with "Divide" unless there is a late boost due to run-up to Mother's Day?

Sales still holding up well and he should make 120k next week which will surely be enough to hold off Take That?

They did say 'pre' Rather Be... i.e. Mozart's House etc.

Yup! My mistake! Definitely read it as post-Rather Be.

Side note - a shame Mozart's House never took off, that was my favourite song from the album.

It seemed so unique at the time, decent track - I had no expectation they'd go from that to "Rather Be" to how huge they are today though!

Passionfruit could go top 5 by Friday, although should be an easy top 10.

Praying that Anne-Marie holds on to top 10, even if it's just for a week!

I'd be very surprised if Anne-Marie didn't hold onto the top 10!

how many Drake songs could go top 40 come Friday if he keeps the momentum on streams?

was trying to estimate but I'm really bad at it... If the songs don't fall, many of them could do >15K on streams alone and go top 40 I think?

Martin Solveig could miss the top 40 thanks to Drake :( but on the plus side, we could lose one of Ed's album tracks from the top 40. With "KMT" entering, Giggs could be looking at his second top 40 hit
