Coronation Street star Dolly-Rose Campbell has hinted that the show will be exploring a mental health storyline for Gemma Winter.

 

The ITV soap has recently been showing personal struggles for Gemma, who has doubted her parenting abilities since becoming a mum to quadruplets.

 

Next week's episodes see Gemma attend a baby senses class with the quads, marking the beginning of a new chapter in the story.

 

Class leader Vanessa and her friend Imogen make an effort to get to know Gemma, complimenting her on her parenting skills. Gemma laps up the attention, unaware that the spiteful pair are mocking her behind her back.

 

Dolly-Rose added that there may be more to Gemma's low moods than initially meets the eye, hinting at a possible depression story.

So Corrie down to 3 a week from Monday. It'll be Mon, Wed and Fri at 7.30pm.

 

They record 6-8 weeks in advance so at 6 a week they may have 35-45 episodes in the can. That gives us about 12 weeks from next week before none left.

ITV has announced it's Spring schedule and says that Corrie and Emmerdale will be on air until middle of June but no longer as they'll have run out of episodes by then.

I am surprised they are not cutting Emmerdale and Corrie to 2 episodes a week at it would keep both on air for longer.

Yeah me too. Would keep them on air 5 or 6 more weeks in to summer.

I think they may do after another week or 2.

Really hope the show continue using her! An underused character but she always shines when she gets good material and I’m glad she’s had issue led stories like the skin bleaching one and now this story too with the video of her.

 

I feel like I’m beginning to notice how when an episode was meant to end as a cliff hanger. But the shows picked up a lot lately if I’m honest.

 

I will say Georgia Taylor really needs a story like ASAP! She’s barely used. I’m also enjoying the Ken, Claudia Norris scenes. I realised today that the new character Ken is feuding with used to play the priest in Bad Girls. I knew I’d seen him from something before and that’s where it was from. He was also In Quiz on ITV a few nights ago too in the court room scenes.

The Ken Norris stuff works. Ya Georgia needs some storylines now as she has just faded into the background.

How many weeks of episodes are left?

 

As sad as this is I am stock piling them and watching slowly as I don’t want them to run out.

They're gonna run out in June I think.

 

The Geoff/Yasmeen storyline is how you do it. The way they've portrayed it, showing Geoff gradually getting a hold on Yasmeen has surely been one of the best ever issue stories in soap?

Haven’t watched for a few weeks now but hoping they can at least have a good end point to the story if they go off air.

I wonder if they’ll reduce to 1 or 2 episodes.

I’m still feeling we may end up getting Tim’s mam being cast at some point as I bet Geoff treated her the same.
