Not as instant as the likes of Wrecking Ball/We Can't Stop but I'm really liking the more chilled out sound and it's already grown massively after just two listens. I quite agree with Harry that it sounds a bit like something Lana Del Rey would do if she went a bit more upbeat with her output. So pleased with the worldwide performance of this so far as well, hoping it can be a huge smash hit for her!

She is scalping basics left, right and centre!

It sounds more Norah Jones than Lana Del Rey to me, I could certainly see this being a big hit, or at least never off the radio.

Quite a lovely song actually, not quite up there with Wrecking Ball, but I'd gladly take this over the forced mess that was the last era.

#7 USA :o Looking almost inevitable that it will climb top 10 on the billboard next week considering her amazing YouTube streaming also!

#12 Worldwide

#25 UK

Officially in love with this. Radio 1, Radio 2 and Heart will eat this up. Think it'll be big.

Two listens in and potentially my favourite thing she's ever done?! That may be heavily influenced by the fact I'm lazing around hungover and this hit me out of nowhere to complement my mental state perfectly, but the song and video make such a heartfelt, dreamy, pretty little package that I know I'll revisit above her other stuff.

I'm generally ambivalent to her as a personality and artist but always loved the country tone to her voice. Her 'Summertime Sadness' cover utilises it magnificently and I was immediately reminded of that on hearing 'Malibu', so yeah the Lana comparisons are definitely there for me too. Also, she's got frolicking-around-while-flirting-with-the-camera down to an absolute TEE. The camera loves her~

This is incredible. So instant and catchy.
Have been listening to this song on repeat so much, definitely my favourite song of the year so far and one of Miley's best. It's probably my 3rd favourite Miley song already behind Drive & Permanent December, and I love how all 3 are so different to one another.
Sounds like Milky Chance and second-era Lumineers so I'm all over it and hoping there's more where this came from!

Debuted at #64 on Billboard with half a day sales!

Already outleaking Bon appetit 👀

:o

Top 10 next week?

I think it's projected for 2/3/4 debut at the moment.

Edit: well, technically not a debut.

I'm expecting this to go top five in the US which surprises me! Her streaming really is rather incredible isn't it? I'm just hoping her billboard performance and rumoured voice performance is enough to ensure another top 3 hit for her! She's #9 on Spotify right now, #2 on iTunes and gathering good YouTube views!

'Malibu' is also expected to debut top 15 in the U.K which is a decent enough result, still think with a stronger song she could have debuted top five!

Slaying worldwide on Spotify and not even in any big playlists yet!
