Such a solid album :cheeseblock:

Also aside from the signed version being reduced to £5.99 on Amazon, the CD/Cassette/Signed artcard is £9.99 on her website if you want to help the Queen out - https://eurostore.warnermusic.com/uk/artist...tte-bundle.html

Just bought this!

It’s a shame she hasn’t promoted Amazon being £5.99 for a limited time!

So glad they’ve added that bundle though seemed to be the most obvious bundle to add for sales...

Im hoping she can chart in Ireland this week but i cant see her charting all that high here. Was also hoping Brave might have gone top 40 in the Uk this week but doesnt look like its going to happen now.

Just got the following email through Ella's mailing list:

‘Everything I Didn’t Say’ on CD & Cassette + artcard signed by Ella for £9.99 only! :o

It’s great they are trying. I still think it’s mad she only had a CD for pre-order for months. Different coloured cassettes, lyric sheet signed bundles etc would of massively helped her sales.

I could see a signed handwritten lyric sheet CD/cassette bundle selling well.

If she happens to get a third album I really hope they focus on the multi format route even a limited number of vinyls.

In the end, Ella is well liked and respected for her voice, her only ‘image’ is herself as a down to earth girl next door northerner. She, in many ways, is ‘older than her years’. I doubt that ‘image’ (although laudable) is particularly highly appealing to the mass music market.

Her biggest problem though is lack of clarity on her musical style. She has recorded pretty much everything besides rock and people just don’t know what she stands for musically or what to expect on an album. Sure many really like her voice, but I’m not sure that is enough on its own to generate a wider fan base or sales.

She needs a much more focussed approach, probably working only with a small production and writing team. She needs song quality not quantity [obviously not an easy task!] Can she achieve that at this point in her career whilst also earning a decent living as a jobbing artist?

she really is a bit like anne-marie where there's a real image problem... i remember when i saw anne-marie when 'ciao adios' came out and she had this whole adele-meets-lily-allen vibe about her which was dropped and i think were seeing the same thing with ella (especially with the random string of dance songs released after she had scored a hit with a non-dance song).

The album is good... it's a bit long though and 'ugly' feels like an 'issues' pt2 (i actually had to check if julia wrote it). Considering she's held onto these songs for a while, i wouldn't have bothered and gone down the piano ballad route.

I think Chapter One is definitely superior. I mean, when you think that album contains Give Your Heart Away, Empire, Pieces as well as the singles this doesn't even begin to compare.

I still think she's done remarkably well for herself to be a going concern for a 6th placed X-Factor contestant a decade ago and following their debut album 8 years later.

Ella and Becky Hill have gone down the ‘feat dance route’ to earn a living. Maybe Becky will have more freedom now but these are working artist who need to earn a crust.

I agree here! Chapter One may have had more budget behind it due to it being her debut and she was with Syco too wasn’t she back then? Not the best label for longevity but for debut campaigns they were pretty strong. Chapter One had better production throughout for sure I’d say that’s the slightly weaker part of this album. It’s not a bad album though and I’m glad it’s eventually been released but I do think Ella’s capable of better like the albums only really half of her potential in my opinion.

clearly they didn't have the same budget as before, no $$$ to buy songs from Ryan Tedder like with Chapter One
The budget this time around would have been much lower but Ella has done remarkably well as others have said who was a 6th place contestant on the show 10 years ago. She has managed alot more than many of the winners. I do see Ella taking the Becky Hill route going forward and probably doing a good more features and it will earn her a living. Id say a third album will have a longer wait than the 2nd.

Longer than 8 years??

I read an interview the other day where she said she wants to get album 3 out before she's 30 (she's 26 now), but who knows what will happen.

Her budget is not "lower". Do you think it's cheap to record & produce 16 songs for an album? People really have no clue what they are talking about. Since signing to Atlantic, she has released no less than 9(!) singles (and I'm not even counting the dance collaborations that were released on other labels).

Of course the budget is lower, buying 1 single song from Ryan Tedder/One republic is more expensive than buying 3248613426871234 songs from the cheap producer guy she's working now, that guy has only work with Nina Nesbitt and Tom Brennan's debut album, his songs are virtually free lol

She probably did a fair chunk of these fairly cheaply when she was between record deals, so yeah...

I definitely think the budget was a lot lower than this and I think it shows in the production. Still not a bad album but I do prefer Chapter One.
