lucky? nope, i actually feel like they've bought themselves a hit, the song has been top 3 on spotify hothits for the last 3 months, many times being song #1, which is pretty unjustified considering how meh the song is

I think it's pretty deserving for a great song actually. Great promotion and the song is most definitely popular. Let's not pretend it's all down to payola...
I meant lucky because it seemed like it wasn’t really clicking the GP the first few weeks.

I think the lack of instant impact was more down to Hot Songs' removal. Neither CB nor Julia are fanbase acts so they had to wait for the song to pick up airplay and gain awareness before it took off, so it was a big climber as opposed to the instant smashes of Tears, Rockabye and Symphony! (plus it's obviously not as popular as those three but it's undeniably popular still, nothing to do with payola)

9 consecutive weeks in my personal chart top 10 which is amazing  especially considering I thought I'd get sick of it pretty quickly!
I think it suffered from getting lost over Christmas too. It’s a grower for most people. It’s my favourite ever Clean Bandit song

Symphony to I Miss You are all 10s tho, Real Love and Mozart's House are also fab. I never ever go back to the bottom 2, or Disconnect actually despite Marina.

59p really does have a gigantic impact for new songs, this would have been out of the top 100 had it not been discounted when it was as that helped it's placing on Spotify playlists too. It's already outpeaked 'Symphony' on US Radio but the 'Symphony' release in America was gigantically f***ed up by their record label because 'Rockaybe' started slaying.

I think that's a bit drastic, 59p helped but it was always destined for the top 10!

I wouldn’t say out of top 100 lmao

I honestly think Spotify wouldn't have put 'I Miss You' as high on playlists had 59p not had such a dramatic effect, I'm sure if it was 99p for a couple of more weeks it wouldn't have held up so well in the slightest and doubt it would have got a top 10 peak. 'I Miss You' has always been 59p too which has helped it's chart run and spotify performance. I'm not complaining because 'I Miss You' is another 10/10 and deserves that top five peak.

Honestly I don't think Spotify look at iTunes at all when it comes to their playlists - just look at P!nk with Beautiful Trauma! I guess it depends on the payola of the label but I doubt Spotify would've had any qualms supporting the follow-up to two huge #1 hits. 59p has been a help for sure but it's not *quite* that drastic!
You also can't force people to buy or listen even if it's "payola", people clearly like it
It's up to #4 on Spotify today. It's clearly very popular.

This is still quite dull and their weakest single by some distance :/

It does make me wonder just how well "Disconnect" would've done with the same kind of push that "I Miss You" has had.
