November 10, 20177 yr Almost finished my first listen. Really loving it, very classic Corrs, back to basics.
November 12, 20177 yr It's very in line with their debut album.i do like it but much prefer white light. I'd love the album to go top 10 or even top 15.
November 13, 20177 yr It's a very nice album, though I too prefer White Light. This is the more acoustic/organic side to the band, as opposed to the big pop moments on White Light. There's a place for both but I do think the melodies were stronger on White Light on the whole. The first half of Jupiter Calling is back to back brilliance, especially Road To Eden and Dear Life. I love everything from Son of Solomon through to (and including) Dear Life, then No Go Baby and Hit The Ground Running are pleasant. Am waiting for the final four tracks to click at the moment. Such is the high quality of their studio albums that I can see this being my least favourite of theirs, even though it's a 9/10 collection! All of the others are in my all time top 40 albums though, including White Light and In Blue. Forgiven Not Forgotten, Talk On Corners and Borrowed Heaven are in a class of their own.
November 13, 20177 yr It is a solid offering from them but its not as strong as previous albums. White Light was a fantastic comeback album and this slightly disappoints. Yet its still a good album. The album is opening its chart week at number 10 in the mid week chart.
December 30, 20177 yr Ive had a chance to give the album a few listens over Christmas. Its a good album but not their best for me. Their is no standout songs that would scream single on the album, not that this would make much difference as the chances of them having a hit single is slim to nothing. The album is enjoyable although slow placed in parts which made hit the ground running a bit of a surprise as thats the first song that feels uptempo. I think when doing this album they returned to their roots of the first album as that original sound is there. Its an album im glad i bought as i like it, but White Light was much stronger.
May 15, 20196 yr Author Random but lovely news today: Andrea has signed a book deal for her memoir "Barefoot Pilgrimage", due for publication via HarperCollins in October: https://www.thebookseller.com/news/andrea-c...collins-1007161
May 16, 20196 yr I didn't like this album very much when it came out, because my expections were pretty high. I listened to it again recently and I have to say it ages well. Most songs are beautiful, but it's sad they didn't have a killer track on it to release as lead single.
September 11, 20195 yr Author Andrea's autobiography 'Barefoot Pilgrimage' is out 17th October. Here's the cover: Will look forward to reading this actually. I imagine the story about their parents Jean and Gerry passing away will be quite moving to read, especially since two of the band's songs (namely 'Angel' and 'Gerry's Reel') are tributes to them.
