I'd just love Sophie to have a resurgence is all with her new work, she is one of those artists who truly deserves it. :wub:

Disappointingly there was no single/ep release last week. So Sophia Loren and Dear Jimmy remain unavailable on streaming.

 

 

Sophie confirmed for the New Year's Eve celebrations on BBC One.

 

Her Radio 2 show is also moving to Friday nights 9pm-11pm from January replacing Spoony.

Sophie will be releasing a 25th Anniversary Edition of her debut album Read My Lips, released on April 18th.

The release will contain the standard 14 tracks but will also include these 6 songs as extras:

Dear Jimmy, One Way Or Another (Blondie cover), Come Over All Summer are ones I've wanted on streaming for such a ling time. So I'm really hoping that this anniversary release finds its way to digital streaming platforms.

'Dear Jimmy' was something she exclusively gave to a Popjustice compilation (I think in 2006), her 'One Way Or Another' cover was on the soundtrack for The Guru (around 2002), and in all honesty I have no idea what the other one is!

Did anyone pick up the Read My Lips 25th Anniversary Edition vinyl?

I wish they re-release her other catalogue stuff as it is sold out (Bittersweet in the first place, please)

I'd love to see "Groovejet (If This Ain't Love)" get a second wind in the chart like "Murder On The Dancefloor" did. It's such a summery song, and one of my childhood songs.

'Dear Jimmy' being part of this feels odd, as it's something that came about in 2006 in the run-up to album 3.

I agree, it fits in more with Trip The Light Fantastic.

To be honest though I'm not complaining. I'm just happy it's finally on streaming! ❤️
