Kathryn Bigelow was my winner tbh glad she got it.

This was a strong year of the four I've seen, all had really strong films that were improved by the person behind the camera. My ranking would look like this though:

1 Quentin Tarantino (very fun and a perfect mish-mash of genres, one of the most unique films here too)

2 Kathryn Bigelow (she made this so intense, I said it in the Detroit thread but she definitely knows how to direct a tense thriller!)

3 James Cameron (props to him for making such a technical marvel but the film is a bit dull)

4 Lee Daniels (i liked this film a lot but he's probably the least impressive and small scale of the directors nominated here)

Neill Blomkamp would have been in my top five and perhaps challenging for the top spot, it's another very unique film and it was great to see sci-fi recognised like that at the Oscars. I'm glad Eastwood wasn't nominated like at the Globes though just on name alone, boring film to be honest..
