Still haven't seen Slumdog Millionaire but I think I'd really like it. Anyway this was a really strong year imo and there plenty of fantastic snubs too.

1 Frost/Nixon

2 The Curious Case of Benjamin Button

3 The Reader

4 Milk

The dialogue in Frost/Nixon just had me on the edge of my seat the entire time, I found it surprisingly enjoyable and enthralling despite having little knowledge of Nixon as the president beforehand. Benjamin Button was a bit long but another very interesting story and I'd love to watch it again eventually, it really tugs on your heartstrings too. I know that The Reader gets slated but I actually found the scenes where they're trying to get to know each other very captivating and the scenes with Ralph Fiennes were a nice touch too. I thought Milk was a decent biopic but a bit slow even though the pay off at the end definitely made it worthwhile.

Doubt definitely should've been nominated here though and probably would have been my winner this year, such a great film in the way it leaves you to form your opinion. I love the ending too with Meryl Streep letting out that she has doubts too. There were so many other great films this year too including Vicky Cristina Barcelona (can't believe this didn't even get a screenplay nomination too at the very least), Happy-Go-Lucky, The Wrestler and WALL-E. It's a big shame that they didn't extend the nominees here sooner because I'm sure the likes of WALL-E, Doubt and The Dark Knight (still not seen this yet though :drama:) could have got in.
