My Chemical Romance for #1 I hope. :cheer:

Now they're going incredibly mainstream though, the heavy rock fans who only like unknown bands to non-rock people, will probably go off them...

Wow, big drop for the Hoff :cheer:

Not as big as I was expecting though. I thought it would be about 27 this week.

9 :right: (from 9) Justin Timberlake - SexyBack

Out 28.8.2006

Having been away from the music scene for the last couple of years to pursue an acting career (apart from the odd cameo appearances on records with Snoop Dogg and Sergio Mendes), Justin Timberlake finally makes a dramatic return to the charts with the Timbaland-produced 'SexyBack'. Not so much a comeback as a mission statement, 'SexyBack' acts as a taster for Justins forthcoming album, 'FutureSex/ LoveSound', his second since he departed the boyband N*Sync, becoming one of the slickest male solo artists of the 21st century. With dirty and sleazy synth riffs, processed vocals and lyrics oozing sexual intentions, 'SexyBack' might well just be Pop Single of the Year. The track also goes some way to cement Timbaland's status of being 2006's hottest producer, which he already demonstrated on Nelly Furtado's 'Maneater'. - HMV

Exactly what happened with Green Day wasn't it? They went mainstream then so many people I know began to hate them.

It will be interesting to hear their new album next year.

They were hardly obscure to start off with  Dookie sold quite well then their next few albums weren't big sellers but they were still quite well known.

Anybody on here from Shropshire :cheer:

Me!!!! :yahoo: Ten mins too late lol.

Not hugely well known though, I knew about them but only because my sister was completely nutty over them -_- I'd never heard a song by them on the radio or TV

8  (from 6) The Killers - When You Were Young

http://www3.hmv.co.uk/hmv/Large_Images/HMV/KILLERSCDSPRE.JPG

Chart-topping synth-rockers The Killers make their eagerly anticipated return with brand new single 'When You Were Young'. Branching out from the icy Anglophile sound of their debut album 'Hot Fuss', 'When You Were Young' draws folk influences from Bruce Springsteen and Tom Petty, amongst others, for a more Americana sound, whilst still retaining all the skycraping steely guitars and impossibly euphoric choruses to produce a wonderfully intoxicating dose of pop sophistication and rock 'n' roll exhilaration. 'When You Were Young' is the first single to be taken from The Killers' sophomore album, 'Sam's Town', named after a casino in their hometown of Las Vegas. - HMV

UK Release date: 18-9-2006
