Posted June 25, 20178 yr Super Eurovision Heat 2 is go (with a slightly truncated deadline due to me leaving for the current Eurovision trophy holders country, sorry gurlz!) and we've got a treat for you here. Featuring the WonderTwin county just ascending to the heavyweight class, the rise and then dramatic fall of what could have been a Eurovison powerhouse, the country trying its best to establish itself as Sweden's little brother and the consistently under-performing black sheep of the ex-Yugo block http://i1186.photobucket.com/albums/z369/RC741/Eurovision%20Logos/Flag%20Logos/Belgium_zpse7b7d2de.png 2008 2009 2010 2011 2012 2013 2014 2015 2016 2017 http://i1186.photobucket.com/albums/z369/RC741/Eurovision%20Logos/Flag%20Logos/Estonia_zps15cab057.png 2008 2009 2010 2011 2012 2013 2014 2015 2016 2017 http://i1186.photobucket.com/albums/z369/RC741/Eurovision%20Logos/Flag%20Logos/Germany_zpsa86d208f.png 2008 2009 2010 2011 2012 2013 2014 2015 2016 2017 http://i1186.photobucket.com/albums/z369/RC741/Eurovision%20Logos/Flag%20Logos/Slovenia_zps12695fcd.png 2008 2009 2010 2011 2012 2013 2014 2015 2016 2017 And now for the plagiarized rules section from Adam last week: Voting will be done in the traditional manner of 12, 10, 8, 7, 6, 5, 4, 3, 2 and 1 point(s). When we reach countries which have less than 10 entries, the number of points will simply reduce accordingly. You must rank each set of entries from the different countries separately. Do not send one ranking with a mixture of all 4 countries. Votes for this heat can be sent via PM to myself before 23:59 Friday 30th June 2017. The results will be presented the following evening. The top 2 songs from each country will progress to the next round, as well as the next 2 highest ranked entries from across the 4 countries. This will be the way of voting/how qualification works for the first 6 weeks of this. Love Love Peace Peace and happy voting!
June 25, 20178 yr Estonia and Slovenia are two of the high quality underachievers so this'll be a fun week. Though Estonia is only good on odd years withtheexceptionofKuula
June 26, 20178 yr Though Estonia is only good on odd years withtheexceptionofKuula I thought Leto Svet might've been the type of 'makes me want to gouge my eyes out' shit that would be right up your street. Happy to be proven wrong :D
June 26, 20178 yr I thought Leto Svet might've been the type of 'makes me want to gouge my eyes out' shit that would be right up your street. Happy to be proven wrong :D It has a certain charm but no, there are some things that even I won't touch. Too much like the godawful We Are The Winners.
June 26, 20178 yr Too much like the godawful We Are The Winners. There is hope for you after all! *.*
June 27, 20178 yr I have now voted ! B-) Estonia and Belgium were hardest to rank. I wanted to give out multiple 12's.
June 28, 20178 yr Copycat, With Love Baby and Mother may well be amongst the worst songs of all time! Thank god Belgium have sorted themselves out recently. Germany need to stop with the MOR b-side filler too, everything since Glorious has been utterly pedestrian. Slovenia had a couple of great moments and lots of average stuff and Estonia are about half and half.
June 28, 20178 yr I don't particularly like my seven-pointer for Belgium, my eight and ten are only begrudging 'I guess they're kind of fun' experiences, only my twelve I genuinely like as a song and it's not even much my type of music. WORST COUNTRY.
June 28, 20178 yr Voted! Belgium is my favorite country of these four, even though they have three of the worst songs of the last ten years. By the way the link for 'Roberto Bellarosa - Love Kills' is wrong, it shows 'Iris - Would You?' one more time, and to be honest I do not...

July 1, 20178 yr Author So, what we're going to do first is reveal which five songs are out automatically for each country. The top five will then go through to a Mefest heat style reveal round. First up is Belgium; http://i1186.photobucket.com/albums/z369/RC741/Eurovision%20Logos/Flag%20Logos/Belgium_zpse7b7d2de.png 06 64 Iris - Would You 07 59 Ishtar - O Julissi 08 33 Copycat - Copycat 09 32 Witloof Bay - With Love Baby 10 27 Axel Hirsoux - Mother Meaning that our five Belgian songs progressing to Round 2 are: 2010 ►Tom Dice - Me and My Guitar 2013 ►Roberto Bellarosa - Love Kills 2015 ►Loic Nottet - Rhythym Inside 2016 ►Laura Tesoro - What's The Pressure? 2017 ►Blanche - City Lights Belgium starts out with a reasonably predictable bottom five (they're all bottoms). Ishtar was the only one to receive a few reasonably high scores but a lot more rankings right near the bottom dragged O Julissi down to 7th.
