I've been a bit slack on posting my personal charts this year lol (mostly because the format from my wiki is too tedious to change it from pasting it here and the weekly charts more benefit myself than everyone else). HOWEVER, I've decided to make a new format to share my foreign tunes, that is to make a monthly countdown thread ranking all the entries in order of chart performance 'sales'. The first one to follow this format will begin some time after 31st July :D

 

Now though, let's start my Top 150 or less best performing songs of the first half of the year :thinking: The first lot should appear in a couple of days.

Interesting. I expect to see a lot of dank memes and banging choons :dance:

Ooh interesting! I literally have no idea what's gonna appear though.

169 songs will be featuring in the countdown :D

 

Songs charting from 2016 into 2017 will be counted here, but only for the weeks spent this year. (the three dots in its chart run will separate the years) They will be clearly marked, as well as songs currently in the chart (as in, the last week of June) will have three dots at the end of its run to show this.

 

Just need to get the chart runs and presentation and I'll aim to get the #101-#169 part posted :cheer:

First batch! #flops :kink: Just missing out of the top 150 is one fine trance producer, Gareth Emery, with a well known female trance vocalist Christina Novelli! While it's a decent bit 'o trance, I'm sure they've both done better.

 

Jim Yosef, who has had several progressive bangers in my chart (and is still to come!) remixes the "overplayed to death on the radio" Zedd track Stay. It is the only version of the song to chart here unfortunately, but I still like the song ^_^ Nicki Minaj continues her floppy runs on here, following The Night Is Still Young which spent only half a week at #40 two years ago :blush: Two biggish names in dance, Oliver Nelson and Tobtok team up to remix a song I never heard of prior, to produce a funky (but maybe not funky house) track.

And how much of the chart is going to get a shake up when that album is released? :o

Big names Katy Perry, Sigala, Martin Garrix, Little Mix, Armin van Buuren, Alesso and Charlie Puth take a chunk of this section now. We also see a couple of Halsey album tracks from her latest Hopeless Fountain Kingdom, which was pretty decent but not top slayage levels of Badlands. Carson Lueders somehow made an appearance here, after famous Youtuber LeafyIsHere made a video on the song (and video). All signs point to cringe but for whatever outer space reason, I liked it :mellow:

Three more songs who weren't allowed to finish their full runs in this section. The Stonebank remix of a fairly well known name in dance Seven Lions track, Cold Skin is predicted to do well in the future, after debuting at a very respectable #14. Top 20 for the end of the year maybe? :thinking: The catchy Go For A Ride upload from the ArmadaTV channel on Youtube should likely be sticking around for a little longer, becoming a medium sized hit most likely. CID and Cee Lo Green Forget You fame have an impressive start already with a fabulous tropical house song which fits Cee's vocals really well and could easily make top 20/30 of the best performing songs of the end of the year :music:

One of my fave lesser known producers Alex Skrindo hits #105, although Moments debuted at #9 and even stayed top 10 for a week, it fell out of the chart after just 3 chart weeks! The song must have been catchy only for a very short time~ Paramore appears with several of their tracks form their long awaited comeback album After Laughter: Tell Me How, Grudges, Idle Worship and Told You So making an impact here. Chart hits Starving and Chained To The Rhythm also miss out on the top 100 sadly :'(

Still in the chart is the latest from Waves fame Robin Schulz, with a slightly unexpected collab with You're Beautiful fame James Blunt. I think the best part of the song is the pre chorus as it shows passion and the vocals work well. The chorus is a bit basic though.

 

89. 112K DJ Khaled ft. Justin Bieber, Quavo, Chance the Rapper, Lil Wayne - I'm the One [18-17-19-20-29-31>6] (2017)

 

One of the biggest hits of the year, but not so big in this chart oops :blush: it's still a pretty good track (as per usual with Khaled, and, in the last few years, Bieber) and I enjoy it when it's on the radio so that's still something :angel:

What I think is an excellent collab from Peking Duk and AlunaGeorge (the former I need to check out more of) it's very catchy and still going strong in my chart at the moment. Can it make top 10, and will it make the top 50 of the year?

Buzzjack's chart saviour of both singles and albums Ed Sheeran, but instead of Shape Of You (which is good but so overrated) we have Castle On The Hill which I think has an incredible chorus :music: If I had charted it a few weeks before when I first heard it, it would have had a better run.

Also in the chart is this track consisting of both dubstep and rap *.* it doesn't always work but this time it did for me, at least it made itself home in my chart for 5 weeks, even touching the top 25 3 times which is quite an impressive hold up.

ID usually put out some cool tunes singles wise and I'm glad I can finally get behind them with this. I especially love the different pitches of the word 'Thunder' in the chorus!

I can't believe Jim Yosef thought to remix my BJSC entry of last year! :music: I actually heard this remix a month or two before charting it, only deciding to when it was in my head one day and took a while to find it :P It debuted at the end of last year but spent most of its time in 2017, otherwise it would have appeared somewhere in the top 60.

Rita Ora is back, and it's much better than Poison :cheer: also not benefitting from a full run but will it stay in the top 75 at the end of the year?

While Bon Appetit novelty didn't last too long here, this one is still holding strong! That drop is really something I can bop to and I'd love to hear more deep house in her songs :dance:

A mashup of two Wiz songs uploaded onto Proximity and it works so well :heart: I'd recommend it to those already fans of him!

The sequel to Freeze Time, with a very odd run of going back and forth from 12 to 13 in 2.5 weeks before dropping out :lol: I think the vocals are calmer in this song, even if that means they aren't as exciting.

What I thought was an odd collab turned out to be a tune :music: I think it dropped out so quickly because of the repetitive chorus.

I only ever heard the original of this as "on hold" music on a calling prank video :lol: one of my channels uploaded it and it's a cool dubstep remix of it :dance:

The same guy (or girl, or band idk) behind 4000 Hz last year are back with something I think I prefer to the former. I think I prefer how the song was going until the main part; the kinky vocals and lyrics :kink:

Decided to chart this after it came up on shuffle (just like Golden Drops). If you don't mind cheap Avicii style tracks you should enjoy this one :P

I think the original Rich Boy lacked something to excite the track and this remix fills that space in nicely :D Again the repetition was probably its downfall.

Gryffin so soon already :P I don't see much in the original but he improves it greatly :music: that drop is the best bit but the chart performance drop seems to be just as big :lol:

This is probably doing so well because it sounds A LOT like Alan Walker's Alone :') I'm not totally sure why that fact hasn't made it flop yet but the vocals are quite good also.

My third favourite track from their latest album! It's such a fun little tune and I think the lyrics are QT :P I'd expect it to be a single in the future and it'll probably do quite well in the Pop community.

Coincidentally, this song was entered into BJSC near the same time I rediscovered it from the OST of the PS1 game Wip3out :lol: Along with the fact that this spent two thirds of its run last year (and me deciding to chart it a couple of weeks late), it still manages to get very close to this year's top 50. What a classic trance tune for a classic video game :wub:

Another LarsM track from 2016 but this one spent most of its run this year. It's not that unique a song as such in comparison with his other tracks but it's still got that lovely vibe that I stan :heart:

Just making top 50 is Fast Car fame Jonas Blue and his remix of Jasmine's latest single. It gives me Ain't Nobody teas which was amazing so I'd recommend this to fans of that!

Shapov is a recent fave of mine after his collab with Axwell and this one sounds pretty similar! I like the instrument usage in the chorus :dance:

Another Owl City subreddit post. Brave was originally just an Adam Young unreleased track but Lynz decided to make her own full version of it. Her vocals :wub: she's definitely one of my favourite new discoveries of the year!
