Posted July 14, 20177 yr The other thread has reached 50 pages! :D So continue discussing the album in this thread here! --- Lets start it off with good news... 34th week in the chart and it's back in the top 10 at #9 for this week! :D
July 17, 20177 yr I didn't know where to post this but the top artists on Radio 1 from the last year/365 days: 1 Drake 984 2 Little Mix 867 3 Ed Sheeran 756 4 Calvin Harris 675 5 Katy Perry 641 6 The Chainsmokers 636 7 The Weeknd 613 8 Kings of Leon 602 9 Jonas Blue 598 10 Dua Lipa 595
July 17, 20177 yr Author Amazing! This era has broken all boundaries for the girls. I feel like it's actually "cool" to listen to them and they've opened up their fanbase a bit more. They've had various articles on LadBible etc.. all to great responses too! Usually you'll see the top comments flooded with "Ugh. LadBible used to be so fun, now we get this shit" or whatever, but they've seemed to embrace Little Mix that little bit extra. Talent wins.
July 17, 20177 yr Spotify UK 13. Power 84. No More Sad Songs 89. Touch 96. Shout Out To My Ex the fact that all of the singles from the GD era are in the top 100 on Spotify is amazing!
July 17, 20177 yr With all the singles doing well i, if honest, would have hoped the album would be on slightly higher sales. The album has performed very well but if the album was outselling Get Weird with ease it would indicate the girls are growing and developing their fanbase. The fact is probably on par to achieve the same overall sales may possibly indicate they have peaked and the next album may sell less. That said, if they release an absolute banger of a lead single for the next album, everything i said above could be just rubbish ^_^
July 17, 20177 yr The issue with the album sales is that they haven't done any promo since the Brits. If there Power performance on BGT had gone ahead as planned their album would have probably had a huge spike in sales for a couple of months.
July 17, 20177 yr I take that point ob board Joe, its a valid comment. When i look at it from the level of promotion they have done it would detract from sales. As you said, if they were in the Country promoting the sales would have benefited on a greater level. I do believe the album has a minimum of 100,000 sales to achieve in the coming months. A fifth single, or re-release could speed this up greatly and possibly attract even higher sales.
July 21, 20177 yr I couldn't see a tour thread so I will discuss it here! OMG, it was incredible! Their vocals slayed, their dancing was on point, the atmosphere was unreal. It was utterly incredible! I would love to see them again! I am just gutted they didn't perform Cannonball and they called Wings their first ever single Ella Eyre was awful, Sheppard were decent
August 4, 20177 yr Anyone else think Glory Days will spend a whole year in the top 20? They have the tour to drum up more sales.
August 6, 20177 yr All 4 Glory Days singles are in the top 100 on Spotify UK :cheer: what a huge era!
August 6, 20177 yr 4 platinum singles (at least as SOTME will go double plat soonish) and a double platinum album would be amazing! Glory days indeed
August 6, 20177 yr Hoping the album can go triple platinum since the tour will give it a good boost in sales
August 15, 20177 yr Been reported by a Brazilian account that Little Mix have been in studio today working with Phil Plested who wrote Touch for new material for their 5th album. Reports also suggest that the girls have also worked with Iain James, who wrote Shout Out To My Ex, Hair and Mr Loverboy, RAYE and possibly MNEK. https://twitter.com/BrasilLM/status/897517266065129472 Wonder if this suggests they are going to go musically in the same direction as Glory Days? I would love to hear more floor thrillers and happy songs that made the album stand out although I wouldn't mind also if they went a tad more urban. I'm hyped anyway! :cheer:
