August 13, 20177 yr Author http://media2.giphy.com/media/LQx7NoYAJIozS/giphy.gif 04. Darth Vader - Darth Vader is largely known as one of the best movie villains of all-time so it's no shock to see him up this high. He is the perfect example of everything a baddie should be in my opinion so there's no way he could miss my top five. He looks terrifying (I used to wake up squealing in the middle of the night due to nightmares about Darth Vader ), is completely badass (as showcased by his cameo in Rogue One which is legitimately the best scene in the whole film), has a tragic backstory and an incredibly good redemption moment. He's a character that has had such a huge impact on the Star Wars universe therefore earning this spot so high up on my countdown. 03. Leia Organa - So Leia makes it on my list as the highest female character which is probably no shock as she is easily one of the best female characters in movie history. Excellently portrayed by the late Carrie Fisher (there is seriously no other person for the role, she is perfect), she brings spunk and sass to the films which is what makes her so great. It's lovely seeing the character continue in the new trilogy as a General and I'm very excited to see how her arc is sewn up in the upcoming movies, I really hope they do her proud  SO THAT LEAVES US WITH OBI WAN VS. YODA IN THE TOP TWO!!
August 15, 20177 yr Author Why the f*** is Carrie Fisher dead? Seriously still not over it. I know :( What a terrible loss, I loved going back and watching old interviews and footage of her recently, she really was a fabulous person  Thanks for commenting T Boy!
August 15, 20177 yr Author 02. Obi-Wan Kenobi - Obi-Wan is a character that I've always loved but I'm definitely more drawn to the way he's portrayed in the prequels by Ewan McGregor. I enjoyed following his journey from Padawan to Jedi Master and how his responsibilities and powers grew as the films went out. The prequels were definitely tough to watch at times but Ewan was always the best thing about the movies - he was charming, funny and looked so comfortable in the role, you can tell he definitely loved being a part of the movies. Ben Kenobi was interesting in the original trilogy too portrayed by Alec Guinness but Ewan was the one who really made me fall in love with the character. I really hope we do get an Obi Wan spin-off film in the future after the Han Solo one, especially as Ewan seems like he's really up for it! 01. Yoda - and the winner is.... Yoda! There really could be no other winner for me as he has always been my absolute favourite since childhood. I loved him in the original movies for being the wise, intelligent trainer and of course, his way of speaking made him iconic from the very first film. I loved seeing the character return in the prequels and turning out to be an absolute badass at the age of 28392839 or however old he is. Seeing him doing backflips and duelling against some of the biggest baddies in the universe made him one of the most exciting and coolest characters I'd ever seen when I was younger. He's just the wisest, coolest, most unique character in the universe for me and therefore very deserving of his place right at the top of my countdown
August 15, 20177 yr Author Thanks to everyone who commented or read this along the way  I'd like to do another one in the future following on from the Harry Potter and Star Wars ones. I was thinking of maybe a Marvel universe one after Thor in the run up to Black Panther? :D THE COUNTDOWN: 50. Coleman Trebor 49. Luminara Unduli 48. Plo Koon 47. Saesee Tiin 46. Bib Fortuna 45. Admiral Ackbar 44. Boba Fett 43. Orson Krennic 42. Lando Calrissian 41. Aayla Secura 40. Lama Su 39. Greedo 38. Watto 37. Sebulba 36. Jyn Erso 35. Shaak Ti 34. Jango Fett 33. Kit Fisto 32. Wicket 31. August 15, 20177 yr Vader was robbed! :D Great countdown and some less obvious but worthy inclusions. Cheers
August 15, 20177 yr I have to say, Yoda would be very high for me too, possibly even top. Thanks for the countdown, Josh, it's been a fantastic read. Now need to marathon all 8 films again.
August 15, 20177 yr Author I have to say, Yoda would be very high for me too, possibly even top. Thanks for the countdown, Josh, it's been a fantastic read. Now need to marathon all 8 films again. Ooo, yay. I know he's a very popular character but I've never met many people that agree Yoda is the very best Star Wars character so yay at us having taste. Definitely going to try and marathon before Episode 8, I'm sure they'll have a Star Wars channel on Sky in the run up to it so that'll be the perfect opportunity :cheer: Thanks for commenting throughout T Boy! Leia lost out to those two? -_- Yep, top three is definitely not a bad position though :o Lol, thanks Grant for commenting! Vader was robbed! :D Great countdown and some less obvious but worthy inclusions. Cheers Definitely the best villain in the universe but I've always been more drawn to the good guys and Jedis in the films  Thanks for the nice comments, Severin!
August 15, 20177 yr Author Surprised Captain Phasma wasn't included in this! I don't know... maybe with future instalments... She was hyped up to be this amazing new thing but she was the biggest wet blanket in TFA tbh, she's supposed to be this big menacing character and then she just sort of gave up and let Fin and Co. walk all over her. If she gets shown to be a badass in the next couple of films then I'm sure I'll be all over it because she does look cool but she come across a bit soft and uninteresting for me ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ Thanks for commenting Oliver!
August 15, 20177 yr Good winner and top 5, all very iconic, and Ewan McGregor was a great choice and definitely one of the best things about the prequels. Count Dooku I found a really weak villain, but the rest of the top 10 are all deserved (Not seen many countdowns where R2 is below 3PO though!). Thanks for this Josh, been great to read (and get me hyped for Episode 8 *.)
August 15, 20177 yr Re: Captain Phasma, I agree. She was marketed as a strong female character and she gets walked over so much she literally does nothing for women. Hopefully she'll kick ass in the next one.
August 22, 20177 yr Author I think an MCU countdown will be the next one I'll do in the future :cheer: Re: Captain Phasma, I agree. She was marketed as a strong female character and she gets walked over so much she literally does nothing for women. Hopefully she'll kick ass in the next one. Yeah, I had all this hype for her before this film and she turned out to be such a let down. I have high hopes for her in the next films though because she looks amazing in terms of design *-* Thanks T Boy! Thanks for this Josh, been great to read (and get me hyped for Episode 8 *.)And now we have an Obi-Wan spin-off film announced, I'm really hoping Ewan is confirmed soon  I think Christopher Lee alone just made Dooku look so badass and he had some really menacing lines and cool fight scenes so he was always one of my favourites  Thanks Chez !!
