November 26, 20177 yr I ain’t on no Stan horse :kink: Gemma last weekend was brilliant and Alexandra has been miles ahead as well.
November 26, 20177 yr Author Na, Davood is good, so is Gemma. I feel y'all need to get off the stan high horse and think about it realistically. Mollie has made mistakes in her dances recently. AJ needs to get her polished if she stans a chance as this makes her look the weakest. Don't disagree. But if it only came down to who the overall best dancer is when they decide who to send home then Aston would've stayed over Mollie and Susan and Ruth would've left long before they did. There are obviously other factors and I think they could continue to work to Mollie's advantage.
November 26, 20177 yr I think it's a shame. She's 100% on the same level as Davood and Gemma, but the undermaking makes her look weaker than she is. You can add 3 points to everyone of her scores, it wouldn't feel like you've been overscoring her, and it would paint a better representation of her level. Really a shame. But yes, she's leaving this week realistically. Still, she made it as far as 6th which is where some of us predicted she would be at. She is not on the same level as Davood at all he is much stronger dancer with more fluidity that Mollie who can be a bit wooded or clumpy at times. I definitely agree she is on the same level as Gemma though. One of those two needs to go next week.
November 26, 20177 yr It has nothing to do with being on a stan horse's back.  If you actually know your stuff, on a pure Ballroom and technical stand of view, Mollie's frame, top line and head positions have been above Gemma and Davood's, similar to Joe's, weaker than Alexandra's and Debbie's. Gemma's footwork tend to be sloppy, she doesn't close her feet at times. Davood has awful, and I mean truly awful, timing. Always behind the beat. Both have had issues with gapping, whereas Mollie and AJ are usually quite well glued to eachother. That being said, that's two times (almost in a row) that Mollie's feet have been an issue, so you could call her footwork sloppy as well. I could go on and on, honestly. A lot of people with dance knowledge have seen through it. You can't always purely based your opinion on what the judges tell you, guys. Mollie's biggest issue, and sadly, it's one you can't just fix in a matter of weeks, meaning the judges will use it against her every week at every possible opportunity, is that she is incredibly tiny, has a weak core, and by definition, doesn't have the strongest balance as she doesn't pull her weight in the right places. She's basically the only contestant with this issue, so it's easy to pick her up on it. Admittedly, Gemma has 200% much better core than Mollie, but the girl trains everyday at the gym, so no surprise. ------ Now that being said, Mollie has most likely the Samba (too fast for her, and her balance will be tested during the botafogos, as well as the voltas....Oh god, I don't even want to imagine the promenade runs!! ) OR the Rumba (slower, more similar to her Ballroom, which she's good at....BUT, Mollie has been really struggling to put all her weight into her standing leg, to make her legs fully straight as well, also seems to have issues switching weight from one leg to another (could be an issue for the Samba as well), there's also the issue with finishing her lines and the stiffiness of her hips which could be an obstacle. She also has the Waltz which she would 100% nail obviously, but I doubt she would have a Ballroom next week. Edited November 26, 20177 yr by Hurricane

I have dance knowledge trained for years as a child and teen, and Davood is actually really good, the improvements he has made in his posture, lifts and fluidity far surpasses Mollie.
November 26, 20177 yr Oh lord, I feel as though I need to stay away from Mollie threads these days :heehee:
November 27, 20177 yr I feel that Mollie's core is weakening due to AJ always adding either a lift or a drag, and from the quickstep there were moments where she seems to be losing a bit of balance, so that could have contributed to whatever small mistakes she did make. The quickstep though was a step in the right direction in terms of improvement. If AJ doesn't add anything unnecessary to the next dance then she'll be fine. The only remaining lift-heavy dance she has yet to do is an AT.
November 27, 20177 yr If "top line" refers to shoulders, then Mollie has constantly been called out for raising her shoulders, or lowering them? Basically they aren't in the right place. Also shock for a Saturday, she got called out for not putting in as much effort at the end of the routine as she was out of breath on Saturday. Obviously I love our Mols and want her to win. But realistically she is on borrowed time now and of the 6 dancers left she is the 6th best. So unless she pulls of a shock masterpiece this weekend, she is relying on two of the other 5 f***ing up like Gemma did this weekend, but even so Gemma was still safe even after being bottom 2 with the judges. I also suspect she will be on first or second again this weekend, I mean they gave her a weekend off last week, so she will probably be on first.

I also suspect she will be on first or second again this weekend, I mean they gave her a weekend off last week, so she will probably be on first. She builds tension because of the stress in the shoulders, so yes, she tends to raise them. To lower them would actually be good! :P In my opinion, she does it more often in Latin (Cha Cha Cha, Paso Doble) than in her Ballroom where her top line actually remains rather still, although admittedly never for the full performance. I don't think she necessary lost energy in the end of the performance. What I think happened is that they didn't understand what she did - which is a really bad attempt at a heel slide.   If you look at her, it looks like she's losing energy, with a laboured walk to get the next position, but it's because of the missed heel slide. ----- I also agree that she's leaving this week, imo. The Quickstep is a fab dance, and she obviously shone this week despite the undermarking (public agreed and saved her), but sadly all of her remaining dances are not good for her. Like I said, she will struggle either way with the Samba or the Rumba. There's no way around it. The Rumba would be the one I think she will struggle the least with personally, but it's the one the judges will score more harshly. They are usually kinder to the female celebrities doing the Samba. So...choose your poison, guys. Her two remaining Ballroom are the Waltz and the Argentine Tango, but she will never do an AT as they are usually kept for the "contenders/finalists". Which is why Debbie, Alexandra and now next week Davood will get to do one. The last one will be kept for whoever is in the finals (most likely Joe). On a more positive note, her Quickstep is actually the 2nd most watched performance of the night on YouTube, obviously after Debbie's Argentine Tango. :cheer:
November 27, 20177 yr Author I'll be sure to quote all of you when she waltzes her way into the mid/upper 30's next week.
November 27, 20177 yr Kye!!!!! :o  How do rumbas usually go down, from someone who watches more routinely than I do?
November 27, 20177 yr Welp. Rumbas are the kiss of death if not sambas. Bye bye Mollie. i didn’t know Shirley Ballas frequented buzzjack!i Know this is a joke but if this happened I think I would have a heart attack
November 27, 20177 yr Yeah, like I said, choose your poison. She was always going to be f***ed this week. Samba would have been just a disastrous as the Rumba.
November 27, 20177 yr It's best she goes out before the samba at least, the rumba might not be quite as bad
