December 10, 20177 yr I agree with the point Jack is making in essence, of course it's not everyone but it's a consistent pattern. I think i'd maybe say sexist over racist because it's the demographics, women just won't vote for women and I think the majority o viewers and voters will be women. It's just funny how Debbie and Alexandra have got the hate for borderline nothing  It's jealousy, some of the snipy bitter facebook mothers just can't stand to praise other women yet they'll need a wet floor sign when Joe so much as breathes. I don't understand why, lke the rest of us, they can't appreciate Joe without tearing everyone else down. I think it's more apparent on this or like Dancing On Ice than BB or CBB because they're younger leaning.
December 10, 20177 yr Oh god, you don't have to get so defensive. I was just making a point and it could have been seen as 'dramatic' so I didn't want it feeling like I was attacking you personally. You're entitled to your opinion. Well yeah but no matter how you dress it up bringing racism into stuff is 'dramatic' and I have a right to be defensive I think.
December 10, 20177 yr I knew people would react like this, people get so defensive when race or sexuality or something like that is brought into it . Do your research like that article has done and you will see it is a wide issue. Coming third in a reality show is nothing when that's the best result someone has had ever for a black female.
December 11, 20177 yr This racism stuff is even more ridiculous, people seem to conveniently forget that this is the same British public that voted her winner of the X Factor, a show with even higher ratings (at the time) It's got quite lot to do with it as confident black women are seen as threatening. When she won the show she lacked a lot of confidence, which she has now and that threatens a lot of people Like Liam says sexism plays a big part as well Women love to tear other women down for no reason but jealousy and men are threatened of confident women cuz they can "outdo" them (Generally speaking ofc, not everyone thinks this way thankfully)
December 11, 20177 yr this mess... anyway, anyone else thinking AJ has peaked in terms of his overall performance during his career on Strictly?
December 11, 20177 yr What is it about Alexandra you don't like? I just don't get why people seem to hate her  You said she was insufferable a few pages ago...?! Nah, good dancer but she's kinda insufferable I don't think people really understand sometimes that racism is a lot more deep and complex than actively disliking someone of a certain race. Racism is deeply ingrained into our society, and a most of us are subconsciously racist without even realizing now and then, even people of colour themselves often display subtle prejudices to other people of colour. It's something we all need to work on and a way in which society still has a lot of growing to do. There IS a lot of racism attached to Alexandra's personality. If you watch her closely she really doesn't act much different to the other contestants and yes, she's emotional but people calling her "fake" when her mother died like 12 weeks ago is a load of shit.
December 11, 20177 yr You said she was insufferable a few pages ago...?! ...and? Finding OTT comments like "Gorka's like a brother" after only knowing him for a short amount of time insufferable is slightly different than trying to figure out why people seem to have a genuine hate for her isn't it? Edited December 11, 20177 yr by jase.
December 11, 20177 yr ...and? Finding OTT comments like "Gorka's like a brother" after only knowing him for a short amount of time insufferable is slightly different than trying to figure out why people seem to have a genuine hate for her isn't it? Most of the "hate" is people saying things like "She's fake", "She's irritating", "She's a diva", "crocodile tears" or... "She's insufferable" though?

Not true though is it, as proven by this very thread? "She makes my blood boil"and the absolute vitriol I've read on Twitter on a Saturday night runs a lot deeper than "oh she's fake/irritating/a diva" and is a BIT more extreme than me finding a comment she made insufferable.

You said 'she's insufferable' though, not just one of her comments... Do you know the meaning of the word? It's quite extreme. "insufferable ɪnˈsʌf(ə)rəb(ə)l/Submit adjective too extreme to bear; intolerable. having or showing unbearable arrogance or conceit." Well yes, of course I found her insufferable...because she's the one...who made the insufferable comment. What aren't you getting about this? And why are you harping on about semantics/pasting Google definitions of "insufferable"? Her comment made me cringe and things which make me cringe I find insufferable. Would you like a further essay into my comment or... Edited December 11, 20177 yr by jase.
December 11, 20177 yr http://www.whatsontv.co.uk/strictly-come-d...-revamp-508852/ No 4th place celeb this year!
December 11, 20177 yr I'm not 100% sure Joe has it in the bag. Remember Danny last year? Everybody was certain he was going to win. It just all depends what they all dance on the night. Edited December 11, 20177 yr by jase.
December 11, 20177 yr I mean, I hope Joe wins because he'll bring me £341 :P but when I sit and think about last year, I'm certainly not confident.

"insufferable ɪnˈsʌf(ə)rəb(ə)l/Submit adjective too extreme to bear; intolerable. having or showing unbearable arrogance or conceit." This is the thing, I'm not saying this represents all Alex fans but they seem to be the ones giving the most insults, calling racism and scrutinizing non-fans opinions like it really matters  I understand there are problems with minority representation and there's a lot of unfairness but let's just accept everyone has their own thoughts.
