They changed the general release date to friday for a reason

My local radio station were hyping this already saying they'd have the first play in just under 48 hours! Clearly they aren't sick of playing him just yet :lol:

Billboard actually only recently put out an article about all the Thursday releases. Long story short they said it was to help the songs stand out amongst the other releases. Frankly I can't see the point, particularly for artists like Justin. His new single is hardly going to get "lost in the crowd". Thanks for posting that article, it's quite interesting actually and I understand in the case of some artists! With Despacito out on a Monday, it didn't matter so much as it climbed to its peak, and being released on a Friday wouldn't change anything. However, a new single with Justin as the lead is hardly gonna be overwhelmed on a Friday release, he'd be top of the pack with absolute ease!

Yeah I do think the Thursday release sort of takes away from the hype of new music Friday and as you say, this release is going to be the massive new release whenever it premieres. The only plus point is we get to hear it a day early so can't really complain :magic:

Yeah I get releasing on a Thursday for maybe a lower level artist, but Pink and Justin have done it for the past 2 weeks and in both cases they're the biggest names of that week who really didn't have to do it :lol:
