Exactly - my point still stands. With fanbase acts like Screech, Lady Gaga, Katy Perry (lesser extent), they rely on pure sales. Pure sales are through the floor, but they haven't I dunno - modernised maybe? - or expanded ther fanbases, so they don't stream them and then they flop.

Ah right, but she's still doing better than most of the pop girls did on sales. Lady Gaga didn't last long at iTunes #2 and Katy Perry didn't do too well at all on release compared to Pink. I guess these days pop girls just don't do well all that much.

Why are sales so bad now? Just because there is nothing much big out? And topping I tunes for a few days isnt much of an achievement nowadays is it especially older acts like Pink should be topping I tunes for a while as sales are so low? Like topping the CD singles chart 10+ years ago.

P!nk is affected by the low sales just as much as everyone else, she'd still have been at #1 for so long if sales were at 2013 levels. Obviously sales are going down but I wouldn't say it's not much of an achievement, sales still contribute a fair bit to the chart and can make all the difference.

Yes, but how many of her sales were streaming out of that 600k? Tbh I don't think that many, so sales wise Katy isn't doing too badly (if we ignore the album and the oher two singles - but that's not her populaitty, it's because the album is just WTF? like Spirit Indestructible).

 

Also Fifth Harmony are oot soon - could be ANOTHER contender :o

Being top 5 officially (even only as low as 6 excluding ACR) based mainly on sales rather than streaming during a year where sales have collapsed and streaming has dominated is very good.

 

Not many others have debuted within the top 5 officially this year.
