"Hey Brother" Artwork: Rate average: 8.47 * Best score: 11/10 (jafetsigfinns), 10/10 (danG, Spadz, mdh, gooddelta, awardinary, Pete, Mack), 9.5/10 (Dexton), 9/10 (lewistgreen, cqmerqn, BridgeCow) Worst score: 0/10 (Cucumberella) Release date: 13/09/2013 (alongside 'True') / 09/10/2013 (as a single) UK Chart peak: #2 Album: True Video: 6Cp6mKbRTQY Biography: "Hey Brother" is a dance song by Swedish DJ and producer Avicii from his debut studio album, True (2013). American bluegrass singer Dan Tyminski provides vocals for the track. It was written by Avicii, Ash Pournouri, Salem Al Fakir, Vincent Pontare and Veronica Maggio. "Hey Brother" sees Avicii giving his brother advice. The song, which serves as the album's third single, was solicited to Australian radio on 9 October 2013 and later released on 28 October 2013 in Germany, Switzerland and Austria. In March 2014, a version of the track remixed by Avicii himself was released on his remix album True (Avicii By Avicii), this time featuring new vocals from singer Salem Al Fakir. The song is written in the key of G Minor, at a tempo of 125 bpm. Commentary: The highest single to be taken from 'True' or any album for that matter is "Hey Brother". Following the album's release it quickly gained popularity and eventually became Avicii's second-best selling single and third single to make the UK top 2. It's another truly brilliant single and one that would sit in my top 5 Avicii songs. *same average as WFL to 2 decimal places, but it actually has a higher average
August 29, 20177 yr Author 03. "Seek Bromance" (as Tim Berg) Artwork: Rate average: 8.89 Best score: 11/10 (Dobbo), 10/10 (lewistgreen, Dexton, gavindeejay, jafetsigfinns, Cucumberella, HarryEzra, awardinary), 9/10 (danG, Spadz, Tawdry Hepburn, gooddelta, Pete) Worst score: 4/10 (cqmerqn) Release date: 17/10/2010 UK Chart peak: #13 Album: non-album single Video: Jrd25gjyDhE Biography: "Seek Bromance" is a single by Swedish producer and DJ Avicii, made while he was under the name Tim Berg (stylised as Tim/Berg) and is also his second released single. It was released on 17 October 2010 in the Netherlands, where it charted at number two and on 24 October 2010 in the United Kingdom, where it charted at number 13. The song is a vocal version of his instrumental "Bromance" (which was originally released on 14 April 2010), with the addition of vocals from the track "Love U Seek" by Italian DJ Samuele Sartini featuring English singer Amanda Wilson, which, in the case of "Seek Bromance", is not credited as singer. Commentary: Starting off the top three is where it all began. "Seek Bromance" was the first ever chart hit for Avicii anywhere in the world, becoming his big breakthrough. Although released under the name Tim Berg, the song was released as "Seek Bromance (Avicii's Vocal Edit)". It was a great first commercial single but imo there were a lot of better things yet to come from him. I wouldn't put it in my top five but I'd still give it a solid 9/10.
August 29, 20177 yr Hey Brother could EASILY have had my 11 if his discography wasn't so strong :music: :music:  Seek Bromance is basically a 10 for me as well but when I was ranking it was one of the weaker ones I had to demote!
August 29, 20177 yr Author 02. "Levels" Artwork: Rate average: 9.25 Best score: 11/10 (danG, gavindeejay, Tawdry Hepburn), 10/10 (lewistgreen, Dobbo, BridgeCow, jafetsigfinns, mdh, Cucumberella, Alpha, Mack), 9.5/10 (Dexton, Spadz), 9/10 (HarryEzra) Worst score: 1/10 (cqmerqn) Release date: 28/07/2011 UK Chart peak: #4 Album: non-album single Video: _ovdm2yX4MA Biography: "Levels" (stylized as "LE7ELS") is a progressive house piece by Avicii. An early instrumental version of the song was first played by Avicii during an appearance on Essential Mix in December 2010, while the final version with Etta James's vocals was first performed at the Ultra Music Festival in March 2011. "Levels" was officially released on 28 October 2011 and peaked at number one in Sweden and on the Dance music charts in United States and became a top ten hit in Austria, Belgium, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Denmark, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, the Netherlands, Norway, Switzerland, and the United Kingdom. "Levels" contains a vocal sample from the 1962 gospel-inspired song "Something's Got a Hold on Me" by Etta James, as written by Leroy Kirkland, Pearl Woods and James. It is the same sample previously used in Pretty Lights's 2006 song "Finally Moving" from his debut album Taking Up Your Precious Time. Flo Rida's single "Good Feeling", which became a worldwide hit in late 2011, was primarily influenced by "Levels" and its Etta James sample. Many fans and critics consider "Levels" to be Avicii's greatest song and one of the greatest EDM songs of all time, mostly due to its chart success and the recognisable synth riff. Commentary: "Levels" became Avicii's second UK top 10 hit in late 2011 and the first as a leading artist, and now remains Avicii's 3rd-best selling single after "Wake Me Up" and "Hey Brother". It is my personal favourite Avicii song and has racked up well over 300 plays for me. It's got such a great riff and beat and is so danceable, and has barely aged in the 5+ years since it was released. I was hoping it would win again but it appears Buzzjack have grown to love a certain other Avicii song even more, anyway I can't argue with a rate average of 9.25 but cqmerqn is getting banned his lack of taste.
August 29, 20177 yr Author 01. "I Could Be The One" (with Nicky Romero) Artwork: Rate average: 10.03 Best score: 11/10 (lewistgreen, Spadz, cqmerqn, Cucumberella, gooddelta, Mack), 10/10 (Dexton, danG, gavindeejay, Dobbo, Tawdry Hepburn, BridgeCow, jafetsigfinns, HarryEzra), 9.5/10 (mdh), 9/10 (awardinary) Worst score: 8/10 (Alpha, Pete) Release date: 26/12/2012 UK Chart peak: #1 Album: non-album single Video: bek1y2uiQGA Biography: "I Could Be the One" is a song by Swedish DJ Avicii and Dutch DJ Nicky Romero, which features uncredited vocals from Swedish singer Noonie Bao. The song was released as a digital download in Sweden and the Netherlands on 26 December 2012. It peaked at number three on the Swedish Singles Chart. Internationally, the single topped the charts in Hungary and the United Kingdom, peaked within the top 10 in Australia, Belgium, the Czech Republic, Denmark, Finland, the Netherlands, Norway and the Republic of Ireland and the top 20 of the charts in Austria and New Zealand. Commentary: "I Could Be The One" is decided as Buzzjack's favourite Avicii song, amazingly with an average of more than 10/10, that's how good of a song this is though. It's also the only song in the rundown to have zero h8ers. The song was the first Avicii song to make UK #1 and his third UK top 10 hit. Despite being one of just two UK #1s, it doesn't rank in his top five sellers, having been outsold by "Waiting For Love", "The Nights", "Levels", "Hey Brother" and of course "Wake Me Up" in order from 5 to 1. It's a brilliant progressive house track just as you'd expect Avicii to make, and it also marked the end of an era of commercial non-album singles before starting on his "True" project. I'm very happy with this winner as it's definitely one of my favourite Avicii songs, I would kill for another song in the style and high quality of this and "Levels". August 29, 20177 yr Great winner I adore the video and song  Also I am happy Addicted To You came 7th
August 29, 20177 yr ICBTO is a worthy winner. Really quite bemused how 'Waiting For Love' can be considered in his top 5 best. For me his decline in quality at that time started with 'The Nights' being average, 'Waiting For Love' being terribly bad and 'For A Better Day' being the full-on shark jump.
August 29, 20177 yr Amazing set of results, the top 3 are my personal top 3  Especially glad Seek Bromance way exceeded my expectations in this! Also waaaaat at Waiting For Love outselling ICBTO!!!
