Been listening to Sugababes A LOT today and I've fallen totally in love with 'Caught In A Moment' all over again.

Such a stunning song and it did quite well for a 4th single release, nearly a year on from the album! One of their best music videos as well, simple, yet so gorgeous

What is your forgotten gem? Could be an album track you've recently rediscovered or a song by them you've felt unjustly overlooked in their back catalogue.

I've always written Caught In A Moment off as the worst of the songs on Three, while still being a solid 9.5/10, and the thing that stopped it being a truly flawless body of work.

However I've been really starting to appreciate it's beauty, mostly thanks to this stunning performance:

I love what Siobhan brings to it but it's actually made me appreciate the 2.0 version a lot more as well.

Like the Heidi & Keisha harmony on the bridge is spine tinglingly good. I just adore the lower register in the 1st & 2nd chorus on the line 'I'm falling deep and losing my control'. It's details like that that always slay me when it comes to their music. The way their voices just seamlessly float together and then play off each other.

Mutya's voice is just divine  that's a really phenomenal performance, I knew MKS had done 'Stronger' but never that!

And I love how it's in black and white as an ode to the music video!

Mutya is just so effortlessly talented. I melt whenever I hear her voice.

Yeah MKS did a couple of 2.0 tracks on tour and in various appearances. This was such a perfect track for them to pick though. It really lends itself well to an acoustic. I hadn't noticed the B&W thing until you pointed it out!!!

The original video is probably the second best of the era for me. Hole In The Head remains my favourite of the 4 from Three.

She's A Mess is a bop!

Also, Freedom is really good! Although forgotten due to the whole free release thingy

To be a forgotten gem you first need to be a gem, and Freedom is not. Shamelessly trend chasing nonsense. Strong vocals but the production and backing track are shite and the less said about that chorus the better tbh the "breakdown" is an abomination. Moving from Island really hurt them because Crown doing the A&R work was not a prudent move in the slightest.

Also how appropriative from Freak is that video?!

I adore She's A Mess mainly because it's a complete f***ing mess. It's not ageing gracefully tho with that autotune :( Caught In A Moment sounds more current and is 8 years older! :drama:

Painful right? Still makes me cringe that the Sugababes released that. Or, more accurately, the Sugababes gave it away for free

I'm guilty of being a fan of Good to Be Gone, it just quietly strolled into Overloaded: The Singles Collection and I was like, what is this groovy tune?

Also, Sugababes were queens at giving middle fingers to exes and I'll always appreciate that.

I don't think I've ever seen that performance! :o Heidi sounds fab

I adore Good To Be Gone. I was so heartbroken when the release was canceled for Walk This Way :manson: I was hoping for some kind of high concept western influenced video that matched the theme of the song

I think it was the only performance they did together. Both bands did it solo on their tours that year as well
A forgotten gem for me would be something like 'More Than A Million Miles'

Was this the only performance of Walk This Way?

They also did it on Fame Academy!

I still live for some of their b-sides, mainly those from the Three era:

I totally forgot Fame Academy was even a thing!!!!

Disturbed and Colder In The Rain give me shivers. I would have released Colder In The Rain from Three personally. It was way to good to just be a b-side

I am probably going to be the only one that loves this song but it came on shuffle the other day and I often overlook it due to how strong Change is.

I forget about Back When a lot too. It’s a great track but gets lost among the other highlights of Change for me.
