August 24, 20177 yr Yeah it would seem anything UK rap-related has been labelled as grime here. 20 bangers though!!
August 24, 20177 yr Surprised that 'Did You See' has actually outsold 'Big For Your Boots' (and by a fair amount as well) :o Indeed tho, barely any of these are actually grime songs, they could easily have just called it 'top 20 UK rap songs'. Never actually heard of those songs at #12 and #14, I don't remember them charting so I presume they've just been steadily racking up streams throughout the year. Would have thought Not3s' other actual hit single 'Aladdin' would be here as well, maybe it is just too new I guess (I mean 'Bestie' is still as low as #20 even though it's been top 40 for a few weeks after all).
August 24, 20177 yr 12. Fine Wine - Yxng Bane ft. Kojo Funds - 128,666 'grime' But yeah, all of these are tunes! Expecting Bestie to be well inside the top 5 by the end of the year.
August 24, 20177 yr Neither of the Kojo Funds ones charted so I think you're right that it is just good streaming throughout the year. Seems we'll be getting quite a few songs "selling" over 100k without charting now, I think Tunnel Vision by Kodak Black is another one but that isn't U.K. Rap so isn't on this list.
August 24, 20177 yr Yeah the Kojo Funds tracks were in the lower echelons of the top 200 on Spotify a fair bit afaik, and they did rather well on Apple Music (nearly top 40 on there at one point)
August 24, 20177 yr Fine Wine and Dun' Talkin are both huge street anthems that blew up at the end of last year and crossed over. I hear them both all the time and Dun' Talkin in particular is one of my favourite songs of the year! I'd highly recommend them both.
August 24, 20177 yr I should probably give them a listen then, not actually heard but I seem to like most of the big UK urban hits.
August 25, 20177 yr I'm sure you went out of your way to listen to all of them to make that statement x
August 25, 20177 yr Hi Liam, No response so far, so i'll try again! What happened to you Personal chart? Is it over and out?
