When original Sugababes Muyta Buena, Keisha Buchanan and Siobhan Donaghy reunited as MKS in 2012, we predicted big things from them.

The trio hit the ground running with potential hit comeback single Flatline but, after that, things seemed to grind to a halt.

A version of the girls’ first album together in 16 years recently leaked on social media but that’s as close as fans have been to hearing a collection of fresh material from Mutya, Keisha and Siobhan.

But Now caught up with Keisha, 32, backstage at V Festival this weekend and she insisted the album is still planned for release.

‘The reason we didn’t release that one is because it got leaked!’ Keisha tells us. ‘But we recorded like 80 songs together so there’s definitely enough material for another album.

‘What you heard probably wasn’t even supposed to be the finished album. But the album is definitely still coming. If it wasn’t we’d have let the fans know.’

The original Sugababes’ debut album One Touch is considered by many a timeless classic that’s very much still relevant today – and it’s no susprise, given that the girls have known each other since they were just 12-years-old!

Siobhan, 33, told Pop Justice previously: ‘When we met we were 12 and 13. [Keisha and Mutya] went to primary school together. Mutya and I were both signed to our manager Ron Tom as solo artists but we wanted to work together.

‘Keisha came down to the studio that night and it just seemed very natural that the three of us would sing together. We did, it worked out well on that track, and the band was formed.’

We can’t wait to hear what MKS have got up their sleeves – don’t leave us waiting too long, girls!

---

BULLSHIT KEISHA on it not being released because it leaked. She's militant about taking down the audios whenever they appear.

Keisha queen of Spin.

Also she looks fab!!!!

I'd be surprised if a couple of the tracks didn't appear on the final version of the album, although remastered/produced

Who knows - are they still with Polydor?

The rumour is that they basically had to abandon those tracks and they're forever locked in Polydor's vaults, hence why they continued to record. I guess it's possible they might be able to buy back some tracks.

There's so many rumours who knows. There was some saying they escaped Polydor with some tracks in hand. Probably the ones they recorded pre-Polydor deal.

I don't think we will ever know for sure. Wtf has gone on this past couple of years

Well, we know that at least one of their backing tracks were given to James Arthur (Too In Love), so who knows what other tracks have been given away by now.

While it was far too good for that toxic turd of a human being, I'm not that keen on Too In Love so it being donated to a human garbage dump is ok with me

omg I can't believe it's 2017 and she's still only 32 years old!!!

I know she was really young when the Sugababes started but it still seems crazy. So she was only 24/25 when she left the Sugababes in 2009 which is my age now.

Where the hec are they? It has been 5 years since Flatline!

If it makes you feel better she's 33 soon!!

It's insane how close in age they are to us. Probably what makes them so relatable. (same goes for the likes to T.Snake who is the same age as me)

4!!! It's been 4 years since the release of Flatline but 5 since they officially reformed for a public appearance at the London Olympics.

To recap, they had label issues and management issues then it would appear that the conditions attached to them now involve the brand so they are in a legal battle for the name. They have the US rights but are fighting Crown for the EU rights. Siobhan has also had a baby so is on Maternity. Naming issues should be sorted this year, or Q1 2018 at the latest so once Siobhan has had some maternity they should be ready to gear up again next year.

It's a shame that they have had so many issues getting back up and running again, couldn't they have just carried on as MKS?

Is there ANY recent news on the trademark business? Wasn't there some fan account on Instagram which tracked progress of the proceedings?

No. I stalk the EUIPO office like a hawk and have notifications set up to notify me if anything changes.

There are rumours that it's been sorted, but it's in the UK courts and that information is impossible to get hold of.
