Kamaliya getting that top 40 smash on sales alone *_*
Absolutely over the moon for X, #12 in the albums chart and three songs in the top 100 when 99% of people on here probably have no idea who he is!
Apols if this has already been answered in another thread but cba to trawl aimlessly through the Forum, would this have been the week Despacito finally relinquished the #1 had ACR (Accelerated Chart Ratio for that poster above) not been introduced? That would have made 15 weeks like One Dance then?
what is ACR?

Please refer to the pinned thread regarding the rule changes ^_^

And Despacito would have dropped off from number one last week, giving Dua one week at number one in the "real" chart.

There's certainly a strong air of 2012 in the top few this week with Taylor, P!nk, Calvin, Katy, Justin, Rudimental, James Arthur and Little Mix all still scoring big hits, as they were five years ago.

I may be proved wrong, and I really hope I am, but What About Us almost seems to have muscled its way into the top three against the odds, purely by being a completely excellent pop song. I can see P!nk's singles chart relevance being on borrowed time now, it sort of reminds me of how Kylie had a last hurrah top three in 2010 with All The Lovers, just because it was so bloody good that it almost made itself noticed, when a weaker lead single probably would have just gone 6-14-22 etc...

So kudos to P!nk for getting another top three with this, fully deserved and I hope she can somehow remain relevant to the streaming generation as the years pass. Regardless, the album's going to be another massive smash for her.

I think the songs lyrics being very relevant to today's political climate has very much helped P!nk but also because it is a well made pop song. Would be a great 'final hurrah' song though I think she still has a few more hits left in her.

Hopefully there's another hit of Just Give Me A Reason proportion to come on the album.

But yes, the meaning behind the song will have helped a lot. It's a shame it's only No.24 on the streaming chart, I hope it continues to pick up and not stall in the mid teens. it's lucky what's left of the download audience are completely lapping up the track to compensate, and nice to see sales can still play a major part in determining a huge hit.
