I don't really listen to "Love the Way You Lie" very much any more, I was surprised that she performed it on the Anti tour (although I enjoyed it live!)

Was it the first best selling song of the year not to reach #1 in the UK. Regarding Love The Way You Lie?

white girl wasted on brown liquor, I probably shouldn't be around you

6 // 8.55 Wild Thoughts (with DJ Khaled and Bryson Tiller)

Just missing out on a place in the top five is Rih's most recent collaboration with producer of-the-moment DJ Khaled (and some guy named Bryson Tiller). It's based heavily around a sample of Santana's "Maria Maria" (which I hadn't heard when I first heard this) and features some of Rihanna's most outrageous lyrics since..."Work"?! It's a huge banger and is one of my absolute favourite songs of this summer. The video is also ridiculous with her sporting a variety of interesting outfits.

It became Rihanna's first UK #1 single since "The Monster" and has so far peaked at #2 for seven consecutive weeks in the US, only her third to peak there surprisingly!

5 // 8.71 Stay (feat. Mikky Ekko)

Just making a top 5 place is 'Stay' featuring Mikky Ekko! (idk either) 'Stay' is a beautiful ballad which is about struggling to resist true love. This is one I didn't really care that much before before I saw it live in the DWT, and even more when it opened the ANTI world tour! It came alive for me then, her coming in singing it in that cloak is something I'll always remember *.*

Wild Thoughts is already one of my favourite Rihanna collaborations so I'm glad it's so high here despite being so recent. Bryson Tiller's part is great but it's definitely Rih who steals the show for me, she looks flawless in the video too

I've never liked Stay really. I can see why people do enjoy it but I find the chorus pretty boring and I'm not keen on the feature really either, there were way better songs on Unapologetic in my opinion even though it was clearly a good single choice as it did so well for her charts wise. Guess it's just me

DJ Khaled in the video though !!

Yeah this was the first time 'Wild Thoughts' has been in a rate I think so great to see it so high! I was the same as you regarding 'Stay' but on the tour it went off (sounds weird for a ballad ik but people who went to DWT/AWT you'll get me ;o) and it's not something I listen to much these days but I can appreciate it if that makes sense

Yes I know!! It was so weird for her to start with two ballads but it was truly a moment! I was just outside the barriers for general standing and was very close when she passed by!

I can imagine it is really nice to hear it live. I haven't seen her since Last Girl on Earth Tour in 2010 so I really ought to see her again, she's had so many classics since then

You really should! :o LWT was probably my fave, all four have been amazing though <3

Wow I thought Stay was less favoured on here. Well it was a grower for me even if it only grew so far as to rate it smt like 7.5/10

LTWYL and Take Care

Very happy 'Hate That I Love You' has performed terribly. As it is f***ing terrible.

An absolute tragedy, what a horrible song

I'mma rock this shit like fashion, fashion

4 // 9.00 Hard (feat. Jeezy)

One of my Rih faves, such an urban bop *.* I was quite taken aback when I heard 'Hard' on the Rated R album as it was SUCH a different step for her but it's grown into an all time fave since!

'Hard' was a huge risk for Rih in 2009 and commercially it was mixed, it only peaked at #42 in the UK (my country ha taste :shakingcheeseblock:) but was a double platinum top 10 hit in the US!
the square root of 69 is 8 some, right, 'cause I've been tryna work it out

3 // 9.10 What's My Name? (feat. Drake)

In bronze medal position is the song that kicked off the world's longest running will-they/won't-they love affair, that of Robyn Fenty and Aubrey Graham. This isn't my favourite of their collaborations but I remember really loving it at the time. It was released in the middle of Rihanna-overload season (see below) so I think that's why I don't have as much love for it now (though I do love Drake's rap).

The song was the second single to be released from Loud and made US chart history when it hit #1 before "Only Girl (in the World)", the first time in the Hot 100's history that this occurred. It later spent a week at #1 in the UK in early 2011, one of three Rihanna songs in the top 10 at the time, and was her first of two #1s that year...

BOP, I've always been way too harsh on it saying it's overrated etc but I think I'd forgotten how infectious that chorus really is *.*

2 // 9.21 We Found Love (feat. Calvin Harris)

So here is your number two Rihanna collaboration! The first of many collaborations with Calvin Harris and what a way to start the best R&B/Dance musical partnership of all time! There have been so many moments involving this song, it's by far Rihanna's most iconic song to date and is perhaps the definition of lit. The post-chorus breakdown never fails to get me going *.* It was one of two Calvin productions on parent album Talk That Talk, although the second ("Where Have You Been") doesn't hold as many memories for me and feels a lot more Calvin-by-numbers.

It's arguably her biggest solo hit to date, becoming one of her four illusive UK million sellers and went 9x Platinum in the US.

This was also the song that broke Calvin through in the US big-time, becoming his first of four top tens to date, his most recent being his latest Rihanna collab, "This Is What You Came For".

Said I'll always be a friend, took an oath I'ma stick it out 'til the end

1 // 9.55 Umbrella (feat. Jay Z)

The winner of the Rih forums collab rate therefore is 'Umbrella'!!!! :cheer: What else could it be tbh. An iconic moment in pop, just an incredible pop song really with no gimmicks and a lovely message of friendship. She's done way better since but it was this song which propelled Rih into the star she is now and still one of her most remembered songs.
