^ IWC was not used on a TV show!

Pretty sure it was in an afternoon Portuguese soap opera lol like, in Portugal :teresa: She even came to perform in it, I remember that

It was called Morangos com Açucar and it had a few seasons, where they would use various songs to promote it/in the credits on each episode. I remember I Want Candy was one of them

According to 100 best selling albums of the 90s book in the USA, Spice is the 38th best selling album with 10,150,000 sales in the USA.

I think The moment you believe was used on one not I want candy. Same era and release dates. Probably what sent it to #1 in Spain. Seem to recall Carolyna might have been used in same way in Portugal too, it was #1 there.

I Want Candy was the theme song of a movie with the same name in UK.

I do not think Carolyna was #1 in Portugal, because back then the country does not have a singles chart.

I dont think Mel had any success in Portugal beyond First Day of My Life, sadly

Would be amazing to see how much their music has sold in a few markets... or at least overall sales?

I think Wannabe and Spice were like 8million sales each in USA right? Any idea of sales in other countries?

I think Goodbye was said to have sold like 2,5million worldwide back in 2000

According to their instagram Viva Forever sold 2 million worldwide and Wannabe sold 15 million according to Mel C's book.

In the U.S. Spice sold 7 million and Wannabe 1 million certified copies.

These figures, however, have been known for years. Billboard probably has not updated the certifications any more.

In Australia, on the other hand, a gold record is worth 35 thousand copies and a platinum record 70 thousand copies sold.

As in England, the data are automatically updated based on sales.

According to 100 best selling albums of the 90s book in the USA, Spice is the 38th best selling album with 10,150,000 sales in the USA.

so more than 1/10th of what they claim to have sold overall across the world, and across their whole discography.

As much as I often don't believe the 85million copies world wide claim, I sometimes look at these types of figures and just how massive most of their singles and albums were, and go 'well, yeah that makes sense lol'...

Who knows...

I thought Wannabe was multiplatinum in the US??? I just googled and it is stated around 4 to 3million and those were old stats...
