September 26, 20177 yr I personally don't care what order they're hosted or who hosts them, can we not at "more popular members this and that"? :lol: People don't have to give you an essay reply every time you offer to host a sesh or whatever, most people just say I'm hosting this then and people turn up. The same crowd always turn up, and others will if they can :lol:

Even in this here BJSC forum there have been a few cockups and "everyone" was taking it out on the mods and they aren't unpopular (this might not be the best example but I REALLY would like to see and end to this whole "popular people don't get backlash" thing :( )

Imo the reason why no one attended awardinary's second session it 1. people was busy 2. X factor was on aka a popular TV show 3. it was so close to the first semi listen through of semi 2 simple as that. Nothing to do with his popularity status. So let's drop this right now.

A less popular member offers to do something like Awardinary and it causes drama!The usualy target for "drama", at least how I see it is when someone is taking the role of responsibility, so like the "example" I said a few posts ago as well as #wardygate. Watch this space Beav, if you were to see a popular member say, host BJSC for example and make a messT in the results I can guarantee you they'd get the same amount of backlash ;) (like recently when Suede hosted I think there was a bit of drama in the results there, and he's a bloody admin!)

Without sounding “dramatic” the scenario was thus; mdh posts the BJSC 99 Semi’s thread on the Saturday evening, revealing to all that there would only be a 5 day window to listen and vote. This causes many to get frustrated and take it out on mdh. Due to the time constraints, I take the initiative and offer to host a plug listenthrough for any interested on the Sunday evening to listen to Semi 2. Some say they are interested and the listenthrough goes ahead. Due to the pressure mdh reveals to everyone he’s been under by other members, he concedes to their demands and alters the deadline, giving more time for everyone to listen to the semis. The Sunday listenthrough attracted less than 10 visitors, but it goes ahead and by all accounts is a success. Plug stats are then posted for others to see (as is the custom). A number of ones mock my choice to host on a Sunday and make a joke of the low turnout. I also get snarling remarks about why I chose to host Semi 2 before Semi 1. I respond by trying to accommodate to others needs by hosting the listenthrough again the following evening for any who missed the first. Monday evening comes and nobody shows up on plug despite the previous protests for the Sunday listenthrough. I observe my friend Addy trying to do the same as me and empathise that he too is getting little if any acknowledgement for offering to host the opposite Semi on a different day. I’m labelled dramatic by a global moderator. I learn not to try and be helpful in BJSC again. The end. ;)

September 26, 20177 yr let me just settle this (and tbh, END this:) - for those that criticised that their semi came after semi 2, and said that semi 1 should come before semi 2 / semi 2 happened again - it's not customary for anyone to host, especially if it's not their semi, it's completely up to a member to want to do it. if the issue was that the second semi 2 run through clashed with a semi 1 run-through, then i'm sure this would've been negotiable. - wardy, to use the word sod probably would get people riled up especially because no-one is obligated to go to a semi run-through because it's happening - you should be doing it because you want to do it, and not take it offensively because it is a low turn-out or response. those that did come would really appreciate it even if it's just a few! plug sessions are completely optional, so criticisms being made by members on either end are completely unfounded and unwarranted because it's at the complete discretion of the host how it's run, when it's run, what's included in it etc., and it's not the members requirement to attend just because it's happening - everyone is able to take the plug runthroughs as their responsibility if they so wish it's not that serious on both ends, no-one should get bent out of shape! you could listen on a thomas cook flight to dubai for all it matters, as long as u have fun with the contest! anything further on this is just gonna be muuuuuted.
