21 Savage, Post Malone, Hardy Caprio ... it just happens more lately and these don't strike me as songs that would've been big previously.

 

I personally don't mind too much as I love some of them and I don't think the likes of Hurtin' Me, Finders Keepers, Bestie and Bodak Yellow would have done as well a couple years back so it's good to have them in the charts as I love all four of them.

 

I just find some of them to be really boring and not have too much of a melody, but maybe that's just because it's not to my taste. I like music to have a bit of melody to it, or just ... something! It's annoying because there is a lot of really great R&B/Hip Hop out there but people seem to prefer the more 'basic' sound when not much is going on in a song.

Yeah, I think you're right in the fact that pre-streaming a lot of people did illegally download this type of genre of music and with Spotify free and student deals on Apple Music / Spotify, this will have an impact. I hadn't thought about it that way before really.
