December 22, 201113 yr Author Lots of thoughts on the finale, mostly positive. I didn't expect Ben to die so soon, but I'm glad it wasn't through suicide. For a bit I wondered if the new family that moved in were going to be part of S2, glad they aren't though. Will be interesting to see where they go with S2 now though, it won't be a completely new house/family, seems Constance (yay!) and the kid will be sticking around, but I don't know how they're going to play with that. Some parts were quite emotional, Violet saying goodbye to Tate and the part where they're all around the Christmas tree, and Viv has decided that the maid can be the godmother. One bit I still don't think I get though, how come some people see Moira as old, but others see a young version?
December 22, 201113 yr I thought the last episode was quite average really. As impressive as the season has been, after the watching the final episode I feel like it was incredibly condensed and rushed through. Looking at the spoilers for Season 2 though I can see why it's been done like that now. I'm disappointed in the changes for the next season but at the same time I can't really see any other way to keep the series from becoming repetitive.
December 23, 201113 yr One bit I still don't think I get though, how come some people see Moira as old, but others see a young version? This was explained away as 'men seeing what they want' earlier in the season. However that doesn't really answer why she's the only one who seemed to age at all. I read an article about S2 which confirms that its a totally new family/setting, however some of the old cast may feature in different roles, but those we know now will absolutely not be back. That's pretty much what I expected/wanted to be honest, keeps it fresh. As for this episode it tied up the loose ends nicely. It wasn't as good as I had hoped, but then pretty much everything that could happen HAD happened already. The final scene with Constance/the child would have been nice to have seen more, but I think we can put 2+2 together ourselves.

Ah, I did wonder about the aging as I didn't think the ghosts could age but I thought it would be odd if they baby was always going to be a baby. I guess the last scene doesn't need to be continued, but it would've been nice to see a little more. I don't know if we want Jessica Lange back or not, obviously she's been brilliant but do we want her in a role that isn't as good, or as a re-hash of Constance?
December 27, 201113 yr Good finale! Ben dying so soon was shocking, but apart from that it was a nice enough end. Finale's are always overrated/over hyped. I nearly always prefer the episodes before the finale. I'm happy about Season 2 being a completely new scenario altogether - as it is called "An American Horror Story" but I am not so sure about whether I like some of the older cast coming back as completely different characters.. But yeah. I really cannot wait to get the DVD of this. It's easily been the best show on TV for me.
January 16, 201213 yr Best Supporting Actress in a Series, Mini-Series or Motion Picture Made for Television: Jessica Lange for "American Horror Story" YES! YES! YES! Get in. Thoroughly deserved! I don't know (or particularly care) who she was up against but I doubt they were as good as her!
February 11, 201411 yr I've just watched all of Murder House, after watching Coven and I absolutely loved it. I thought Coven was great, but I was far more scared with the first series. Coven seemed way more 'soapy'.
February 11, 201411 yr For me 1 > 3 > 2 - I love them all though, although I liked a lot of season 2, I just felt like it was stuck in a loop hole for a while and nothing was moving forward for ages. Ryan Murphy tends to do that a lot though. Which is why it all feels so rushed by the end of the seasons and they have disappointing (but still decent enough) finales.
February 11, 201411 yr I'd go 3 > 2 > 1 tbh. At the time I thought I preferred Murder House to Asylum, but in retrospect the latter has stuck with me more. Coven might have been a little story lite, but in terms of what I watch the show for (OTT ridiculousness, amazing one liners, fabulous character) it was by far the best.
February 16, 201411 yr I've just finished watching Asylum. I thought it was great and Sarah Paulson was outstanding, but I think I enjoyed it the least out of the three. I think I'd rate it 3 > 1 > 2. But all three seasons have been brilliant, I can't wait for the fourth!
January 13, 201510 yr AGREED. He's so good in this (well, I'm a fan of anything he does tbh). I can see him being a vital part of Season 5, tbh. When Ryan tweeted him about this part, it got such a huge, positive reaction online! Hopefully him and Finn team up and be psychotic, murdering cousins or something
January 24, 201510 yr I've been catching up with this on Netflix. Series one was absolutely fantastic! I've just began Season two and can already say it's nowhere near s good as Season 1.
January 24, 201510 yr Yeah I saw the finale, actually kind of shocked with them killing off the majority of the cast :of I really thought the twins were so underwhelming too. Like, they felt unnecessary the whole time. They brought nothing.
