Posted October 29, 20177 yr Saw this idea another thread and thought it'd be interesting to look at how the singles have fared in the streaming world! Spotify has this really annoying habit of combining only some of the radio/alternative edits with the main tracks... Therefore, I've compiled a portion of the singles manually, but haven't included remixes - this would take wayyyy too long, and in 99% of cases, they don't make a significant difference anyway. THE SPOTIFY SINGLES - OCTOBER 2017 1. About You Now 17,413,340 + 2,132,502 (Radio Edit) + 589,855 (Acoustic Version) + 1,822,477 (Radio One Live Lounge) = 21,958,174 2. Push The Button 20,924,183 + 374,407 (Acoustic Version) = 21,298,590 3. Too Lost In You 11,689,140 + 1,788,094 (Radio Edit) + 937,419 (Love Actually Version) = 14,414,653 4. Overload 6,340,133 5. Get Sexy 6,198,816 6. Round Round 5,611,808 + 19,848 (Alternative Mix) = 5,631,656 7. Hole In The Head 5,242,993 8. Ugly 3,730,441 + 494,742 (Acoustic Version) = 4,225,183 9. Freak Like Me 3,216,746 10. Stronger 3,002,391 About A Girl 2,021,630 Shape 1,950,843 Red Dress 1,295,966 + 5,845 (Extended Mix) = 1,301,811 In The Middle 1,150,742 Denial 1,148,066 Girls 1,147,731 Wear My Kiss 758,378 + 332,260 (Edit) = 1,090,638 Change 923,635 Caught In A Moment 869,482 Walk This Way 683,137 Run For Cover 632,790 Easy 520,947 No Can Do 307,521 + 20,144 (Radio Edit) = 327,665 New Year 278,764 Soul Sound 234,350 Follow Me Home 85,999 + 84,658 (Amelle Mix) + 8,037 (Radio Edit) = 178,694 Angels With Dirty Faces 176,789 My Love Is Pink 174,590 Freedom 93,254 Thoughts? Personally, I'm really pleased to see Stronger, Shape, In The Middle and Denial performing as well as they are! Edited January 22, 20187 yr by rowork
October 29, 20177 yr Easy and Run For Cover being in the bottom 10 is shocking. RFC especially is far too low for something so stunning and perfect. Thanks for compiling this! It's really interesting to see how their singles are going.
October 29, 20177 yr Author Run is so unappreciated! As of lately, it's my #1. Walk This Way's plays are abysmal for such a big charity single/collab. Still think it's pretty far off Silver, too.
October 29, 20177 yr Deservedly so. Walk This Way is not a stand out moment for either band. RFC  While Overload gets its rightful recognition, Run For Cover is cruelly overlooked.
October 30, 20177 yr Author Me too! I thought it'd be considerably higher given its Christmas/winter feel. Probably overlooked for Too Lost In You when it comes to playlisting.
October 31, 20177 yr Not surprised, Too Lost In You has the Love Actually connection so it will always get a decent rotation at Christmas. It'd be nice for New Year to be a bit higher, but when Run For Cover is so low as well, who the hell knows what people are thinking
November 2, 20177 yr Author The entire One Touch era was/is completely unappreciated by the public (Overload included). I'm just glad that European countries appreciated it that little bit more! It still bugs me that Run For Cover is a UK bonus on Overloaded, and the complete omission of New Year is unbelievable. So much for a 'singles collection'.
November 2, 20177 yr Author Not surprised, Too Lost In You has the Love Actually connection so it will always get a decent rotation at Christmas. Funnily enough, Spotify have just added the Love Actually Version to their #ThrowbackThursday playlist! It's nearing 1 million plays alone.
November 26, 20177 yr Curious to see if New Year gets an uptick over Xmas at all  Expect TLIY to make some serious in roads on the top 2 this month
November 26, 20177 yr Author New Year is on 282,455 now ( from 278,764). Not moving that much at all, but I've noticed it's on the 'Classic Christmas' compilation album, so maybe that'll help its streams. Still a bit of time to go yet (even if TLIY will always be seen as their main 'Christmas single').
November 27, 20177 yr It’s funny because New Year is the one that makes all the critics lists of best Christmas songs and TLIY isn’t that christmassy at all we’re it not for the Love Actually connection
November 27, 20177 yr Author ^ Very true! And while it wasn't massive, it held up pretty decently for a new act releasing at the heart of the Christmas period.
December 7, 20177 yr Especially for a song that's not really traditionally Christmasy. M1ovi9MNJEA ^ that didn't help things either. Overload was iconic but this was phoned in. Then RFC got the best video of the era with something that actually felt wintery
December 14, 20177 yr Author Always hated that video. Probably damaged the single's impact, given how important music videos were back then. <_< New Year seems to be enjoying a little Spotify boost at 288,777 plays (up from October's 278,764). Too Lost In You has made much more progress with overall plays of 15,500750 (up from October's 14,414,653). Expect it to increase some more this month, given that Love Actually's now been released to Netflix!
December 23, 20177 yr Author As of December 23rd, Too Lost In You has 15,709,731 overall plays, meaning it's up by 208,981 in just over one week! That's pretty amazing... but also pretty devastating when - in the space of nine days - it's almost eclipsed New Year's overall streams (292,338 - up 3,561). Nonetheless, good to see some progress.
January 22, 20187 yr Author January 2018 - Increases since October 2017 1. About You Now | 18,736,798 + 2,781,950 (Radio Edit) + 1,866,199 (Radio One Live Lounge) + 606,006 (Acoustic Version) = 24,996,953 (+3,038,779) 2. Push The Button | 22,527,561 + 380,738 (Acoustic Version) = 22,908,299 (+1,609,709) 3. Too Lost In You | 13,476,213 + 1,799,358 (Radio Edit) + 1,235,489 (Love Actually Version) = 16,511,060 (+2,096,407) 4. Overload | 6,865,368 (+525,235) 5. Get Sexy | 6,407,419 (+208,603) 6. Round Round | 6,141,981 + 20,988 (Alternative Mix) = 6,162,969 (+531,313) 7. Hole In The Head | 5,630,555 (+387,562) 8. Ugly | 4,049,347 + 535,164 (Acoustic Version) = 4,584,511 (+359,328) 9. Freak Like Me | 3,434,539 (+217,793) 10. Stronger | 3,185,040 (+182,649) Some juicy increases for the top 3! Amongst the less popular singles, Change and Caught In A Moment aren't too far off 1 million plays.
