November 5, 20177 yr Poor Simon. Grace thrown under the bus with early slot, poor song choice and dressed as a Sesame Street character and his beloved Rak Su still didn't win that special prize. Edited November 5, 20177 yr by Esmerelda
November 5, 20177 yr It's going to be Girls x Groups and Boys x Overs next week, right? So, I can't see 2 girls or 2 groups in the bottom 2 and it will be 1 elimination from each category. I can say the same about boys x overs.
November 5, 20177 yr I can't see them doing girls vs groups and boys vs overs - that'd lead to 8 acts performing one night and 4 the next  I'm sure they'd prefer to balance it for 6 acts each night?
November 5, 20177 yr Louis and Nicole could in theory be empty handed next weekend. Not sure I like the idea of a double elimination. The final is in 4 weeks, they don’t have much choice with 12 contestants left.
November 5, 20177 yr OK. It could be interesting if there are 2 girls, 2 groups, 1 boy and 1 over each night then. :P
November 5, 20177 yr SO glad I gave all my app votes to Kevin even though I'm not arsed on him  Edited November 5, 20177 yr by jase.
November 5, 20177 yr SO glad I gave all my app votes to Kevin even though I'm not arsed on him  that's exactly what I did  anything to stop overly smug rak-su winning. you could tell simon had basically set it up for them to win & was shocked when they didn't!
November 5, 20177 yr Odds to win according to oddschecker.com: 1 Rak-Su 2 Grace 3 Kevin :o 4 Holly 5 Lloyd 6 The Cutkelvins 7 Alisah 8 Sean & Connor 9 Matt Linnen 10 Rai-Elle 11 Jack & Joel 12 Sam Black Edited November 5, 20177 yr by Jason
November 5, 20177 yr A bit irked at them bringing back the "only allowed songs by one artist" theme, tonight's was good cos it was more encompassing. Tonight’s was good?!
November 5, 20177 yr Tonight’s was good?! Yes I thought the theme they picked for this weekend was actually pretty good by their standards. As was mentioned they're picking something on trend for once rather than forcing them to do big band or disco themed songs which no-one cares about.
November 5, 20177 yr Yes I thought the theme they picked for this weekend was actually pretty good by their standards. As was mentioned they're picking something on trend for once rather than forcing them to do big band or disco themed songs which no-one cares about. That changes next week with the theme being George Micheal week -_-
November 5, 20177 yr At least with George Michael theme the acts can more easily change the song to suit their style. Can't really do that with big band / disco, and when they do try to modernise those songs it 9 times out of 10 doesn't work.
November 5, 20177 yr Author Yeah I quite liked the theme for the most part, apart from the choices for Sean & Connor and Leon which were total reaches. It's something different and again most of these songs had never been performed on the show, if they were they're still quite rare. George Michael next week is a bit of a shit one though. --------- Ranking/review for this weekend as I still didn't comment properly on everything! 01 Kevin - f***ING TUNE. He sang it so well as well, I think it helps that i wasn't expecting anything as I haven't thought anything of him so far. That was just a brilliant performance, right down to him playing his own guitar, that actually felt authentic and fitting rather than shoehorned in. They say it a lot but that really felt like he was a guest promoting his own single! I think that might bt my fave across this week AND last :o 9/10 02 Lloyd - far from what I'd normaly stan or enjoy and he has no X Factor, but wow. The vocals were so spot on, crisp and clean, not a note out of place but I felt a lot more connection and passion that I do with Alisah who of course is really the only one who can vocally ompete with (and outdo) Lloyd. 8.5/10 03 Rai-Elle - really impressed with that, I knew this theme would really fit her, as she has the attitude and gave the performance such life. She's the sort of contestant I could imagine doing a Saara/Alexandra and really building to a contender in the coming weeks, but with the format as it is she'll probably be gone next week :( 8.5/10 04 Grace - at least she took the plunge and did a cover, it shows she's willing to do whatever. I don't think it necessarily was the best song for her, better on paper, but mostly it was solid. 7/10 05 Alisah - technically great but SO karaoke, as always. She just leaves me so cold, Simon is right she has to actually put her spin on it at some point, I don't ever feel any passion. As I said, can't fault her technique and vocals but it felt like an over from one of the early series who is forced by a theme to do one uptempo and competently does it but it doesn't QUITE feel right. 6.5/10 06 Holly - solid performance, especially given she's "well northern, me" and had to work so hard to nail lyrics mostly in a different language!I found it REALLY shouty in places though, it sounds much better in studio form on Apple Music though so maybe she just faltered a bit idk. Bt she could have done much better on the night so I'm disappointed a bit. 6/10 07 Cutkelvins - a total disappointment, I chose this song for them when the theme came out but it just didn't work :( Shereen's vocals were off, and the staging is beginning to feel a bit awkward. As I said, it eels like Shereen is like Ella Eyre or something and the brothers are just some rent-a-rappers, so it doesn't feel like a group. They're gonna be a shock elimination in a week or two if they don't step it up. 5/10 08 Sam - fun enough I suppose but I always cringe a bit at him, he's like an Olly Murs tribute act. I feel like he has one of the best recording voices in the competition but has yet to fully mpress me with either performance. 5/10 09 Rak-Su - last week I really enjoyed, but this song felt like a poundland version - why didn't they save Mamacita for this week? It wasn't terrible but it's already a bit tired. It's gettng very old, Grace copped flack for the same thing yet I haven't seen much on social media saying the same about Rak-Su... Whats the betting next week they get to write a song called Mami or sth and it'll reference how she "wants fast love like George Michael" or something  if they do do a cover I can't imagine what they'll sing although I'm sure they'll throw in a cringe rap. 4/10 10 Tracy - total mess of a song for her, awful song and just didn't suit her. Idk waht I'd have given her, Latin wasn't her theme really and she did about the best she could with the song. I liked her but I don't think she should have got to the final really, she was never going to win and always felt like week 2 at best cannon fodder. 3/10 11 Matt - it wasn't as bad as the horror it seemed on paper, but not that good either. That arrangement... Who on earth thought that was a good idea? It was trying to hard to be "credible" and edgy with the guitar arrangement and rap, but it's Ricky Martin for gods sake  Just so unneeded, they could have fund a song that suited his faux credible thing a bit better. His vocal was much less exposed than last week though. 3/10 12 Jack & Joel - at least they try and bring the fun but that was basically a Diva Fever performance... Incredibly cruise ship, the arrnagement of the song was odd and the staging was awful. They both have good voices, they just don't work as an act on the X Factor who are supposed to go on to become recording artists. They feel like the sort of act David Walliams would give his golden buzzer to on BGT then they'd coe like 6th in the semi  2/10 13 Leon - good f***ing LORD, it's impossible to worse than that VILE song but what the flying f*** was that arrrangement? There are so many Latin songs that would have suited him but they did.... that. Nice bus shame if someone fell under it xx 1/10 14 Sean & Connor Price - zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz. Could they GET any more lifeless? They have to be some of the worst vocalists ever to make the liveshows. Laughable interpretation of the theme too, to put "amigo" a couple of times and say it's Latin :') 0.5/10 Right person more or less went both nights, would have preferred Mat and S&C but I knew they wouldn't happen. It's a shame because Tracey Leanne was probably my fave last week but that was pretty much dead on arrival :( It's also a bit :/ that she didn't just go last week as good as she was given Talia had much more potential and Tracy was always going to be next to go anyway
November 5, 20177 yr Author Also yeah, Kevin's victory was way better just because it imploded the obviously carefully laid plans for Rak-Su to get the prize
November 5, 20177 yr I've no idea who to put my money on out of Grace, CrapSu, Kevin and Matt. I sill think the latter two are gonna get the bored/horny housewife vote.
November 6, 20177 yr Author I still think Matt is more likely than Kevin, Kevin's odds jump feels a bit premature. I think tonight was a case of the favourites ahead of him disappointing a bit and then him smashing it, with such a short window I think it matters more what happens on the night than the actual fanbases.
November 6, 20177 yr Y'all know I am bilingual reet? I could not understand a fookin word that Rae Elle or Holly SCREECHED in Spanish. My god that was AWFUL. They obviously do not know the language, so do not try to sing in it?? Holly was flat as a pancake and omg Rae Elle sounded utterly fookin HORRENDOUS. HOW THE FOOK I SHE IN THE SHOW?? SCREEECH!!! :puke:
November 6, 20177 yr I don't think I can watch this any more. They were ALL shet. Lmao at Matt pretendin to be a boxer.
November 6, 20177 yr I fsstforward that crap. Imagine listening to Ego Elle about how great she is for SOMEHOW gettin through to lives!!
