It has been confirmed that Aisel Mammadova will represent Azerbaijan in the 2018 Eurovision Song Contest. İctimai Television opted for an internal selection once again and Aisel's song for Lisbon will be unveiled at a later date.

The article lists numerous JAZZ festivals that she has been a part of so not holding out hope for a pop banger :nocheer:

Well you say that, this is Azerbaijan so even if she's a "jazz" singer at the moment I'm not going to rule out a complete artistic 180 at some point.

Oooh!! Following skeletons with my heart... 😂

It's out!

It's very solid but it's pretty basic, in fact sounds a bit demo-y like it's not quite there. It sounds like a bit more uptempo version of What About Us by Pink, a bit like when someone sings it on X Factor and they have the slightly differently produced cheapo version on iTunes  But I do like it a lot.

I like it but it's certainly not a stand out track - staging will be the key and as it's Azerbaijan we know they have something planned.

No girl. Bye. Next
It’s in my top ten by default, but I was hoping for something a bit more to the left. This is surprisingly straight-forward but itll keep Azerbaijan’s seamless qualifying streak in place.

...and this one sounds like a female Chainsmokers remixed. Didn't grab me as much as Poland on first listen. Forgotten how both go actually.

That revamp did the world of good, it sounded a bit demo-y but it's stronger now for sure!

This has really grown on me over the past few days. I do fear her vocals might be a bit weak live but she seems to have the same vocal range as Belgium's singer so hopefully she surprises
