Yes. I always thought that they pull something really cool off, an album based around Never Give Up On The Good Times, Say You'll Be There and Viva Forever with a more contemporary approach, and they would be flying!

 

This would be so amazing :cheeseblock: If they could somehow tap into the R&B sound they explored on a few Spice tracks, and Denying, I’d love that. Some disco flavoured pop like Never Give Up on the Good Times too. Biff’s work for Kylie recently is great, I’m sure him & the girls could create something special.

 

What would interest me though is them working with modern writers and producers. MNEK for instance!

Yeah I totally want them to that too. MNEK is amazing and I am always here for his work as an artist, producer, remixer, etc! BUT on MNEK's case maybe the fact that he already does so much work with Little Mix and Sugababes might be a hinderance?... Like, yes I get it but I think the girls should try something different.

 

Maybe ask MNEK to work on some remixes like he did with Sugababes' reworking of their classic Run for Cover? That would be cool...

I'd get Joel Correy on a basic bop for them. His name would get streams.

New music would definitely be amazing but it would have to be done right. They've all had great solo material so it is possible.

Geri has lost it, so they just can't.

They just have to not do a repeat of their sound like they did with Headlines and Voodoo, but upgrade it and make it modern. They have all evolved as people and artists.

 

Work with new producers and old ones too, a mix rather than just thread on the same people again. That was the issue with Headlines and Voodoo, they just felt like a 'by the numbers' attempt at recreating the sound without adding anything new or interesting to it.

They were definitely meant to sound like their back catalogue's 90s sounds, and yes it was very dated by then unfortunately. It was clearly for a GH to reminisce about their sound and status, but also they just werent that good comparatively which is why there is such fear around them releasing new music...

Yeah but my point was more making a 90s sounding album now would be nostalgic and cool but in 2007 it would just sound dated no matter what.

 

It is always the same with music late 80s and early 90s ABBA were super uncool and dated sounding. Now they are nostalgic and cool.

 

No one in 2021 wants a 2011 sounding song but a 2000 sounding song would go down a storm now.
