They only meet all 4 or 5 for work related things. It is way too much effort for all of them to sort out a meeting unless there is a motive.

I'm sure it is mainly to discuss the Jubilee as this is a big offer that they would all have reasons for wanting to do it, even Victoria.

Feel like it is a meeting to see if they have a common ground on which they all can agree what they would do if they do do the Jubilee. Victoria and Geri might only want to do certain songs, use very heavy backing tracks or have a performance idea like the Olympics where the spectacle of it was more than enough no matter what the vocals/dancing was like.

When they signed on to do Hyde park for 2021 (it was going to fall on the exact day Wannabe was released) they negotiated using their own stage for it where as normally there is a set stage for all acts at Hyde park. It was so they could have it as the spectacle they wanted.

Was that Hyde Park gig confirmed? I only read it here to be honest...

I thought Emma left Heart Radio in London a few years ago.

She left the main show, but is still doing the Sunday show

It is only confirmed by me but trust me it was happening. There was loads of wrangling behind the scenes with them wanting their own stage as it meant doing whole new risk assesments, fire assesments and heath and safety but it was worked through in the end.

I think it is one reason Glasto hasn't happened as I don't think they would have the bargaining power to demand their own stage or whatever else they would want. They would have to put it out there live and the camera work and everything would be out of their control.

I gotta be honest that the 97 Brits performance always leaves me a bit cold nowadays... At the time of course it was exciting but now I dont care for it...

It is, by almost all measures, one of their worst 'big' performances lol mimed, poor staging, etc. I get why it is iconic but to be honest, I think they have done much better.

Whenever I go back to Spice Girls performances, this one just isnt one of them at all

The 97 Brits performance is one of those things that worked at the time but has aged pretty poorly, just like Bananarama's final performance in 1988.

For sure. I think it was so successful because it kind of captured the moment of hightened Spice Mania, a crowning moment in their ascent and deservely so. Nowadays it is all a bit meh though...

Brits wise, I would much rather their 1998 and 2000 performances get a moment in the spotlight. Now *those* were incredible performances!

I couldn't disagree more about the 97 Brit Awards :o I still find it so electric all these years later... the performance just has an it factor, even if they aren't doing the most impressive choreography or singing live. It's just a vibe and a moment!

Agree the energy was electric and it was so fresh. Love everything about this performance.

I just wish even a small part was actually sang live. I still love it though :)

Yeah the 97 Brits performance was all about energy and confidence that you so rarely see in any performance. All were just on it in terms of buzzing and throwing themselves and all the energy they had into it.

Whenever I watch it now I find it hard to think of an act these days that would without dancers, band, props fill a big stage and almost feel too big for it.

It appears they haven't visited and toured Russia as a group. The closest visit in Eastern Europe was Istanbul, Turkey in 1997.

Only Mel C has visited Russia in 2001 to perform at the Kremlin, from what I can find.

With: Eurovision, Formula 1, UEFA withdrawing plans to visit Russia ...

News for Victoria fans (nothing new):

Victoria hints at Spice Girls reunion for the Queen's Platinum Jubilee in early June.

I wonder if the Queen's Platinum Jubilee will be broadcast internationally across the Commonwealth?

Come on girls, add more to that later on abroad.

Geri went to Russia in the There's Something About Geri doc. Think it was on Christmas Day 2004

Not sure it was ever a big market for them. But yeah with the current war, I doubt they will altogether.

Are they anti-intellectual or something?? I was listening to Say You'll Be There, and Geri sings, "If YOU can work this equation, then I guess I'll better show you the doo-ooOoo-ooor". Why do they not want people who can do maths??? Was that ever explained?
