Some further details of a cancelled 2014 tour with the four girls (Emma, MC, MB, Gerita) have come to light by a known fan with pretty insightful knowlege in the PopJustice forum. He used to work in a bookings agency, I believe.

here is what he is sharing (in this thread):

- the tour promoter was Marshall Arts

- Full on Arena tour with all four girls

- it was all planned and was going to be announced later in March (within a week of this guy being told directly about it on March 20th)

- it was booked and there are internal listings that people in the industry saw but never came to public knowlege

He doesnt know if it was one of the girls who got cold feet or if it was the promoter, but he stresses this:

And looking at our chat there was a lot of talk about how touring wasn’t doing well back then, Gaga tour was half sold, Prince tour they were giving free tickets to fill the seats, an Eternal, Atomic Kitten and B*witched tour was about to be announced, but the promoter got cold feet…

If even Prince and Gaga were struggling to sell at the time, I do understand that a promoter might be hard pressed for a 4-Spice Girls tour without their 'most famous girl'. Maybe they were asking for too much money and the promoter was scared they could meet the money? At the time, and for many years since, many believed that a tour without Victoria would flop.

Can someone with an account on PopJustice ask the fan if this was an international or UK-based tour? I fear it was only UK to be honest...

I do wonder what made that fall through - Stephan?

I think Melanie C mentions in her book that she quit a planned tour they had for later on because of Stephan, right? It was after the X Factor scandal of Mel B dissapearing because of violence from him. I might be wrong but it seems to be around 2015-2016 which then led to GEM happening...

The 2013, at least that fan is hinting at the fact that touring in general wasnt doing great in the UK around 2013-2014. Certainly there were many artists who were struggling, even massive touring artists like Lady Gaga and Prince! So maybe they/the promoter got cold feet about it all?...

I think the Mel B’s X Factor disappearance was around the end of 2014 so maybe its around that time since Mel B was dealing privately with issues
Does anyone have Mel C's book and can find that passage in her book to check if the timing is right?

I do not have her book but I did listen to passages of the audio book.

Thank you for sharing. So yeah, that post-X Factor issue was not to do with this cancelled tour specifically as that was in March 2013, and what Mel mentions in her book is another period after in 2014.

To be fair, GaGa was touring an album that was panned critically and underperformed commercially, so it's no wonder she saw a decline in her ticket sales.

Melanie wasn’t the best for recalling exactly when things happened, so maybe the incident she describes was earlier in 2014 rather than late (which is when Mel was hospitalised).
  • 2 weeks later...

Yeah she is lying, she has clarified after Mel C sent her a copy of her book in which she wrote a note in it saying she could replace Posh apparently.

It was probably either a tongue and cheek joke or done in hope she would post about it on insta to her zillion followers and thus promoting Mel's book in the process.

Look, none of them gert any close to confirm it but Geri's answer and Emma's reply does imply that there would be one as soon as Gerita is over with this children's book crap

:teresa:

Emma: when we going on tour?

Geri: You know Im with Rosie now

Emma: We gotta get the outfits ready, this would be a huge thing :o

Geri: and you know I always give you 150% focus

Emma: and then come and give us some

Geri: Exactly, exactly

WHat do you think girlies?

Geri has earned a lot of respect and success with this book. It’s not “crap”

At the end of the day she is just another celeb kids book author. I swear every b-list celeb and his dog has done the same thing in the last 5 years. One of the McFly guys was on BBC Breakfast promoting his kids book not long ago.

Difference is they all know it is a sideline, McFly still work regularly. Geri always thinks she will eclipse the Spice Girls with a solo project and not need the band anymore then come back when it doesn't happen.

She would be getting a lot more success on a sold out Spice Girls stadium tour.
