January 3, 20187 yr The Sun has confirmed COURTNEY ACT!!!!!!!!!!! AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHH YAS A DRAG RACE QUEEN IS DOING IT "confirmed" I know. And yeah of last night's lot, Maggie seems like a potential winner to me, and even Twitter can barely find anything bad to say about her. I think looking at the supposed males though there's definitely potential for some coasters who could snatch it.
January 3, 20187 yr It's difficult to say after literally just a VT though, there's every possibility Amanda could end up seeming like a "cranky old woman" who can't have fun and pisses the younger contestants off. Maggie might turn out to be really quiet because she's not the "celebrity" type so she could be perceived as boring. You never know where the narrative will take ANY of them. I'd have thought Kellie Maloney stood a good chance on night one, what with her story, but she ended up being abhorrent.
January 3, 20187 yr Being boring never stopped Coleen Nolan :kink: Although that was her name really, she's the epitome of the Loose Women bored housewife vote.
January 3, 20187 yr I think it's good we don't have anyone with a fanbase this year so far, it will hopefully stop a Coleen Nolan or Sarah Harding landslide.
January 3, 20187 yr omg India is such a tryhard, grasping any screentime she can get. It’s nice to have such few housemates in because I feel each of them have had a substantial amount of screentime tonight (apart from Ashley) which makes a change so I feel you know them more. However, I’m wanting the men in just to hopefully drown out India a bit! I’m pleasantly suprised by Malika, as I’d wrote her off in my head because of her connections with that family but she seems quite switched on and interesting. Love the changes in production, felt a lot more smoother and natural. They finally seem to have toned Marcus down which i’m so pleased about, and him not reading the times actually felt better! I enjoyed tonight’s show but I’m not sure that the effort will be reflected in the ratings sadly, maybe it’ll be better to judge in a week’s time.
January 3, 20187 yr The first male is... a washed up footballer! :cheer: Hardly washed up compared to Jamie O'Hara although John Barnes hasn't done much in about 10 years.
January 3, 20187 yr What a phenomenal episode! So so good. Love that they’ve added ‘coming tomorrow’z
January 3, 20187 yr Author Today's Star reported that the guys (outside who have been confirmed) entering are Andrew Brady Ginuwine Jonny Mitchell Kieran Hayler Rodrigo Alves
January 3, 20187 yr Jonny, Kieran, Rodrigo & Andrew have ruined the line up. Especially Kieran, what a f***ing loser!
January 4, 20187 yr Surely 8 guys in total is too many ? I just assumed/thought I saw somewhere that 6 guys would be going in Edited January 4, 20187 yr by troylovesmusic
January 4, 20187 yr For being a baance to the existing females, good line-up but f***ing hell Jonny, Rodrigo, Kieran and Andrew are gonna be awful aren't they? I know we shouldn't judge until we've seen them but this is such an intriuging, intelligent task and everything i know about all of them goes against everything that is so far making this series absolutely incredible. I can just imagine Jonny, Kieran and Andrew being one of those horrendous alpha "lad" groups. omg India is such a tryhard, grasping any screentime she can get. 100% what I was thinking, she'd rather that and share her story to anyone who'll listen than actually be a good role model and representative for the transgender community. And I cannot stand that, it is of course incredibly brave, especially when you're in the media and face the gaze and scrutiny of millions of people day to day, but it feels like in that structured discussion thing with the card prompts, she always had to find a way to bring ANYTHING back to her personal experiences and her story, rather than actually discussing and debating the wider issues of the world that affect everyone. I know that's not to say that everyone there has to be an ambassador to everyone under every facet of their identity, but to go in there as a trans woman, say how important it is to you to show yourself to the world and show the real you, then slag off drag queens as "part time transexuals" being a gobshite is not the way to go about it. I hadn't really seen her speak at length about anything before but the Caitlyn Jenner comment you made yesterday is really ringing true already
January 4, 20187 yr This is so frustrating because I can clearly see that Big Brother are listening to fans and are changing it lots, but it’s sad that this isn’t reflected by viewing figures. To the proper hardcore fan, this is probably going to be the best CBB from Channel 5 yet the average viewer probably sees it as boring. This IS what Big Brother is supposed to be. 1.4 just isn’t sustainable. They need much more than that. I really think they should completely scrap Summer CBB. It will enable them to get bigger names for January CBB which is what the show needs to get viewing figures up! If Courtney Act is indeed going in CBB then I can see the non-CBB viewer gays watching it which hopefully draws in more viewers. Producers should use Friday as a re-launch. I think Friday is the only time to improve ratings.
January 4, 20187 yr Author You know producers will look at ratings and think "omg well clearly the public are missing our scripted showmances" and we go back to square one. Sigh. https://www.thesun.co.uk/tvandshowbiz/52671...pice-things-up/ Somebody called Dapper Laughs is entering. He sounds vile. "It's been a pretty bland series so far so they definitely need him in there to ruffle some feathers with the ladies." Excuse me? EDIT: "He came under fire after he joked that a female audience member was "gagging for a rape" during one of his stand-up routines and more than 50,000 people signed a petition calling for his show to be axed." We're celebrating women this series........and then they go and f***ing put somebody like THAT in the house? I absolutely fail with words. Edited January 4, 20187 yr by jase.
January 4, 20187 yr Author Some of his tweets this week about CBB - "Is it true about menstrual cycles syncing and that? if so, one week it’s going off!" "Celebrating 100 years by giving them a house to run LOL" Enjoy this series until Friday I guess! Edited January 4, 20187 yr by jase.
January 4, 20187 yr Full male line-up revealed by The Sun John Barnes Wayne Sleep Courtney Act Ginuwine Jonny Mitchell Andrew Brady Shane Lynch Dapper laughs I am livid at Dapper laughs. I'd rather have had Kieran Hayler :manson: At least we have Courtney I guess.

I think Friday is the only time to improve ratings. I think that's what they'll do, I've never really seen the need for two a year as the only time I really enjoyed both was 2013... Normally the summer one is a bit shit. I think it would bebetter to focus on the January one, as that's not coming just after a normal series, I think for me personally as much as I adore BB, it's kind of a fatigue by the time there's been BBCan, BBUS and civillian BBUK  Plus they never really seem to get very good names for CBB summer, if they do it's just the one like Sarah or Gary who storms the whole series. It would be silly to axe it but like I said earlier in the thread the costs are probably a bit much for a show that's losing viewers like this. C5 could probably get 1m just chucking one of those benefits shows on sadly, with much less cost. To me this kind of feels like... fan service almost, to use the term positively. It's only a matter of a few days, but it placates the superfans a bit to have something like we've getting before it inevitably descends into the usual shtie on Friday. I know it sounds pessimistic but looking at the line-up and how C5 always mess it up, I don't have much hope  Selfishly, it's kind of annoying to me that we get teased with this kind of thing but yet again the Geordie shore crowd whining that it's "like a retirement home" get their way eventually. But i get that taking a risk is probably the worst thing for the show rn.
